Great Read

Shining Pearls (Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, #2) was another great read by Ann Omasta. Alex was still dealing with the heartbreak of his wife’s disappearance when he met Josie. She wound up helping him move on from that heartbreak and helped his daughter through the same heartbreak. Unfortunately the truth about his wife’s disappearance surfaces and everything changes for Alex and Josie. I love Alex and Josie’s story and although things don’t go as they planned, I think their story is exactly what it should be. I can’t wait to read more in this series and more books by Ann Omasta.

Love this series!

This is a wonderful second book in this series. Ann Omasta's writing brings out the characters feelings, hopes and disappoints. I did have one problem with this book. After Alex's wife Claire had been missing for a year he found someone to spend time with. How can what Alex and Josie shared be called an affair when Claire was assumed dead? I can understand Claire feeling bitter thinking he'd moved on. Her family was the one thing that helped her survive being kidnapped and held captive for a year. I just had a hard time believing this part of the story. Still the story came together really good and I did enjoy it.

Ann Omasta's narration is very good as she takes you through the lives of the characters.

I received a free review copy of this audible and I'm thrilled to be able to provide my honest review.

Surprise!!

Surprise!! Alex's wife Claire returns at the start of book 2. She walks into her home to find her husband with another woman. At this point in the story Claire has been gone for one year. Josie does the "right" thing by leaving to allow the couple to talk. What I didn't care for at this point was the way Alex dropped Josie like yesterday's trash and Josie seemed to be alright with that. I didn't let that fact keep me from finishing the story which ended in another CLIFFHANGER. I'm really looking forward to see how their family meshes together in the next book. I really enjoyed the narration by the author.

NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Not knowing in the beginning that this was a continuation book, I was thrown off as to why it started the way it did. Getting into the book, I was really upset with Alex as to why he had given up so easily on his missing wife and how Josie had just moved in and had an affair with him before his wife was declared dead. I did like Dean’s unwavering devotion and love of Josie. This book is a cliffhanger also.

I was surprised that the author did the narration. I have to stick with my theory that women have a hard time doing the men’s voices. I did love her women’s voices.

Great Read

This book is about unconventional family situations. Clare escapes and comes home to Alex. You will have to read this book to see how it goes. There are unexpected twists that will change their lives. It is well written, the characters are believable and likable and somewhat interesting. It is an easy readwith a sm ax ll amount of heat. She has left the ending with a cluffhanger so you will need the next book. Ann Omasta does a great job with the narration and she maintains yout interest.

This is the 2nd story in a trilogy, ending in a CLIFFHANGER.

Let me preface this review. I hate cliffhangers. I'm an instant gratification kind of person. At least in regards to reading/listening material. There are already too many cliffhangers in my everyday life. Thus 1 star off. However, I'm very glad to not have missed these last two stories. So really it could be a 5 star review.

I could easily see this story as real life. Alex's wife Clair is back, es with all the churning feelings all around. Claire comes in while Alex is with Josie. Personally, I think Josie surprised me with her understanding of the situation more than anyone else. She didn't expect anymore than she got. Seeing Dean take a more active role was terrific.

I was disappointed no-one in town, including Meg, Claire's sister (I really dislike her) apologized to Alex for their behavior. It was like his total ostracization never happened, grrr.

Ann Omasta did a great job with the narration. The voices were mostly the same but by identifying who was speaking often helped and the pacing was outstanding.

Now, I wait to find out what happens next.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
