Publisher's summary

Alas, a perfect plot for Napoleon: Stop Wellington's forces in Spain and destroy Major Richard Sharpe. An unfinished duel, a midnight murder, and the treachery of a beautiful prostitute lead to Sharpe's imprisonment. Condemned to die as an assassin, he is the pawn in a plot conceived by his archenemy, Pierre Ducos. Caught in a web of political intrigue for which his military experience has left him fatally unprepared, Sharpe becomes a fugitive - a man hunted by both ally and enemy alike.

Kicking Napoleon out of Spain

Pierre Ducos, French spy, sets a trap for Sharpe and has him charged with the murder of the Marquis. Lord Wellington is forced to respond by having Sharpe court martialed and hanged. But does Hogan and Wellington have a secret plan? So begins the story of intrigue
and suspense. There are several battles in the story and as I have said before Cornwell is the master of the battle scene. The last battle scene of the story is magnificent. I was most interested in the author's comments at the end of the story, telling what was true and where to go to see the battle scene, also which museums to go to see the Rubin's paintings and other item's left or recovered from the looting of the wagons. Cornwell is great at weaving history and fiction together into a great story. Frederick Davidson does a great job narrating the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sharpe's Honor?

Liked the part where the castle blew up and he escaped,

Have you listened to any of Frederick Davidson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and this one is just as good as the rest, He does a great job

If you could rename Sharpe's Honor, what would you call it?

Sharpe's Luck

Great writing and great reading

Another Sharpe book with amazing descriptions, great imagery, a great story reader. I only have a few Sharpe books to yet read. I’ll miss the characters.

Another Winner

Ths sixth book in the series (not counting the prequil) has all the blood and guts, but adds a little more intrigue to the Sharpe equation. While Sharpe has mastered war on the battlefield, he still has a long way to go to be a player in Hogan's intelligence war.

Recommend all of Bernard Cornwell

Where does Sharpe's Honor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love the Sharpe's series. Ranking is too difficult. Audible gives so many fabulous options.

What other book might you compare Sharpe's Honor to and why?

Bernard Cornwell's books are all good. I really liked the Sharpe's series (most I listened to from the local library saving my credits for other fabulous books not available there). I've read less favorable reviews in comparison to Patrick O'Brian but why compare them? Both series are very good. Sharpe is probably not as well-written as a literary work but for entertainment value, both Sharpe and Captain Aubrey are equals.

Have you listened to any of Frederick Davidson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He's fabulous in everything that I can remember.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

Great series. I've liked everything that I've listened to that Bernard Cornwell has written. I haven't listened to "The Fort" although I own it. It received some less than favorable reviews so I haven't listened yet. But, I will.

Solid Sharpe Story

If you’re a fan, this was one of the best. But I was wondering how Wellington felt about the telescope.

Another good Sharpe Book

I really enjoy these books, so I'm really biased. This one has a slightly different plot than some of the others, which is a nice twist, although the second half of the book seems kind of repetitive of other Sharpe books. I did enjoy the description of the plunder of the wagons at the end though.

More Duccos Machinations

Audio version narrated by Frederick Davidson.

Another entry where Pierre Duccos tries his best to put away Sharpe and fails. The El Matarife duel methods was one and of course it's something Sharpe barrels through with just brute strength, speed, and daring.
