About this listen

After surviving an unholy horde in New Mexico, Gavin Randall didn’t think things could get much worse, but the world he walked into 11 months ago grows more dangerous with each passing day.

A new threat has surfaced in the form of fanatics hellbent on destroying him, his friends, and the Archive itself. It’s his job to make sure that doesn’t happen, but these guys don’t play fair and have found a way to stack the odds in their favor. With the primordial fires of Muspelheim lapping at his heels, can he survive long enough to fulfill his destiny, or will the world be burned to ash?

Great story!

I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this new Vigiles book. A lot of new information was revealed, some of it shocking me speechless! While I enjoyed the narrator of the beginning of this series, I really liked this one a lot. The action really ramped up in this book, and Pond really made the tension pop. All-in-all, I love this series and universe, and I'd recommend it to my friends and family who read or listen to urban fantasy.

Fantastic!

This series gets better with each book. I was a little worried about the change in narrator. Andrew Pond narrates Ken Lange's Warden Global series and did an outstanding job with the narration, but the main character in this series has a completely different personality so I was a little worried he wouldn't capture the character perfectly. There was clearly no need to worry. I think Pond did a better job than the original narrator. Be sure to pay close attention throughout the series though, every character and every place is significant. You probably won't even notice until the next book comes out. Great book! Great series! Excellent characters! Excellent world of magic and myth! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys urban fantasy!

Good book

This book like the previous ones has a interesting plot and the unique mythos which has caught my attention. Though like the others it's a bit rough in places hence the 4 stars (really 3.5). The ending was a good twist and I'm excited for the next book.

Why switch narrators in book 3?

I was so used to the way Gavin sounded in Paul Clewell's voice that I couldn't get through this book. I stopped almost halfway, the people all sounded so different then those I knew so well from 1 & 2....disappointing, it kept throwing me from the story.
