About this listen

Everyone is seeking for true happiness in their lives. It’s the most sought-after subject on earth. To be truly happy is a great mystery to many as they search for joy in everyday life. The fact is, we never find the joy we’re seeking if we’re looking for it. There is much more to finding happiness than we think. In this book, you will learn specific things that will bring you true happiness.

“If more people took the advice from this book and used it to its fullest, the world would be a different place. Some of the ideas are rather simple, but the overall message is profound. Happiness isn't sitting where you'd think. But it's easy enough to find with a little work and a few extra steps. I hope many not only listen to this book, but also take it to heart.” (Author Brooke Williams)

A worthwhile listen!

Are you searching for true happiness? In this book, we get a quick, comprehensive look at how to find your way to your happiness. Linda Weaver Clarke gives us distinct points to think about in each chapter, letting us listen to and digest. While some I know is common sense, we tend to take for granted the little things that make us the happiest every day. Clarke brings this to light, with well versed chapters and experiences from her own life to let us see how life and actions can effect our paths. There are times that I do like to be reminded of things, how our interconnecting lives, and specific instances all affect our views. It's a great, quick listen to help refresh your life and hope to give you pointers to find your happiness.

Carolyn Kushner does a fantastic job with the narration of this book. She adds emotion to the stories and gives a good pace to her performance.

A MUST READ

If you're searching for happiness in your life I really encourage you to read/listen to this book. The first half of this book greatly focuses on service because when help others it also helps us. Then the second half focused on our spiritual life, as a Christian I really liked that there was emphasis on the One who gives us true, lasting joy.

We cannot spread joy unless we are filled with joy! I really believe this wonderful book can change lives.

Great ideas for a happier life

I listened to this Audible version today. I think I kind of needed it, too. Feeling a bit "not as happy as I would like to be" due to health issues that seemed to linger way too long. After reading this book, I felt uplifted and had more hope.

The author tells of her own personal trials, as well as those of family members, and how they overcame. We all experience these times and she explains how they may us more capable to feel the pain or sorrow of others and be able to help them.

I found myself taking quite a few notes, and in a way, wished I had the paperback version, so that I could highlight and mark up the parts that were of special significance to me.

Happiness is not just getting the things in life that you want. And the author gives some "assignments" to practice the things that she talks about in her book.

There are many worthwhile ideas to help us as we try to find happiness in our lifes, through service, love, and kindness.

I felt I learned some great ideas and think you will, too.

A Short Impactful Read (or Listen in this case)

I have reviewed several of Linda Weaver Clarke's audiobooks so when she reached out asking if I would like to review this short non-fiction book for her, I was quick to accept. The narrator is one Linda uses on all of her books I have reviewed so far, and as usual, she did a great job.

The book includes quotes from several resources, including the Bible and other religious resources. discussing being happy with yourself and your life. The reference details were sometimes distracting, but ultimately informative and allows the reader to know what reference material to seek if they want to continue their reading of specific details within the short read. While it different that any of her other works I have reviewed, I am glad I was given the opportunity to read it, and would recommend it to anyone who may be interested.

True Happiness is Obtainable

Searching for True Happiness is a book by Linda Weaver Clarke. This inspirational book is excellent and I found myself nodding and agreeing with the book. Carolyn Kashner is an excellent narrator. I believe that Linda Weaver Clarke expressed that True Happiness is not found in the world of finance, although you must have money to live. True Happiness is not what your spouse, child, family, friends, the world around you can do for you. True Happiness is only found in what YOU give to others. A smile, a hug cost you nothing, but, can be pure joy to the one who received. True Happiness is found in what you do outside of yourself.

A Very Christian take on hapiness

This is a self-help book about happiness. It's not the sort of book I would normally listen to, but Ms. Kashner's voice is solid enough with strong enough performances that I felt willing to give it a go.

For me as a low vision person, the narrator's performance is absolutely key in my ability to listen to a book, especially after suffering three majors in university listening to poorly performed, droning textbook. Fortunately, Ms. Kashner delivers. I actually enjoyed listening to her voice far more than I enjoyed the content of the book itself.

This book includes a fair amount of Christian, religious content. Specifically it is written by an author who refers herself to a "missionary" from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those who love that pov will love this book. However, those who prefer a secular approach or a different religious perspective (including a different form of Christianity) most likely will find the amount of religious content unpleasant at best if not outright irritating and annoying.

Overall, it's a good book that is well performed. To my independent author colleagues, I absolutely recommend Ms. Kashner as a prospective narrator. She's quite good!

This book was received as a gift in exchange for my honest review.
