About this listen

He did 10 years for me. Now he's free. This is supposed to be happy ever after, so why does it feel like disaster?

Crista: Scrap Allenbach is a living legend to the Steel Bones MC. A vigilante hero. Ten years ago, he gave up his freedom for me. I never asked him to. Now he's back, with some idea about how it's gonna be. He's wrong. Things are different now. I'm not the same girl he knew. After what happened, I'll never be that person again. Not with the baggage I carry and the secrets I keep.

Scrap: I've waited 10 years to make Crista Holt mine. I came back expecting to claim the girl I fell in love with, but that girl is gone. I hardly recognize the woman in front of me now. She thinks I'll give up, walk away, but I'm not that kind of man. She's been mine since the moment I laid eyes on her, and I don't give up what's mine. All I need is time, and she'll see how it is.

But when the past rises up and old enemies ride again, we're out of time, and it might not be ghosts from the past that destroy our future. It might be the secrets between us.

Contains mature themes.

Great love story.

This was an awesome story. Sad overtone due to a horrific act the main character suffered. Great love story and characters.

Great read

Interested storyline, not just sex, sex, sex and abuse. Would’ve love more information on the kidnapping and rape but still nice read.

Good easy listen

I enjoyed the storyline overall... the author hints at Cristas attack but doesn't give you more details about what happened and how she was found... I also felt that if the book was named after Scrap he would have more chapters. The book mainly focused on Crista and how she's coping.

Scrap and Crista

A heart wrenching, emotional and intense roller coaster ride to go on with Scrap and Crista. Goodness, my heart absolutely broke for these two but the patience, caring and tenderness Scrap had for Crista was simply beautiful. This story was about hope and overcoming. I enjoyed every second.
Narration was fantastic!

Explosive

Scrap & Crista’s story was the best. The FMC lived through a horrific life altering experience. The MMC fell in love with her when she was 16 and when her prognosis was grim he didn’t want to think about living without her so he took revenge for her. It was the best story.

Good

He sacrificed 10 years of his life to avenge her and he did his time counting the days until he would see her again. There’s a horrific scene, very sad and your heart breaks for her. What she went through as a young teen but his love is 🔥. Great story, great characters and this series is so good. My favorites are 40 and Dizzy.

Utterly Unappealing

What did you like/dislike:

If you’re asking me for an honest opinion here’s my take. There is a whole lot of stereotyping going on here. Instead of creating unique, interesting or even realistic characters- they stuck with straight up stereotypes. The dialogue between characters inspires no emotion nor interest. It’s just a bunch of vain babbling that goes in one ear and out the other.

Age warning!

Age gaps in general don’t bother me but when the age gap starts when she’s 16 and he’s like 21, with him sneaking kisses and having her sit in his lap and stuff.. yeah no. That’s grooming, that’s not romantic or cute. I finished the book still and the story overall was fine but that age gap absolutely needs a trigger warning. They could have made the exact same story about a shy 18 year old who just started college or something. There was no reason to start the romance when she was 16, it didn’t benefit the story at all.

good story

Scrap & Crista: triggers: sexual assault, PTSD, assault, graphic violence, drug use. I liked the story but... I had a serious issue with how the author referred to almost every character, especially the try main characters, by first and last name. And this was fine throughout the book, by characters that are familiar with the person they are naming. It makes so sense and felt like it was just to add to a word count. 🤦🏾‍♀️. It's a good MC book, dark and deep.
