About this listen

He's about to meet his match.

When teenagers from the same side of the tracks collide.

The second born son in a broken marriage, Joey Lynch has spent a lifetime picking up the pieces of a family unraveling. When his older brother Darren skips town on his first day of secondary school, twelve-year-old Joey finds himself thrown into the role of protector to his younger siblings and mother. Plagued by self-loathing, and furious with the world, he grapples with teenage life, his unwavering sense of duty to his family, while balancing precariously close to a life of addiction that threatens to swallow him whole. The only light in his sea of darkness is his boss's firecracker of a daughter who refuses to back down. A girl who just so happens to be his classmate.

Aoife Molloy has never been backwards in coming forward. Her bubbly and self-assured nature has never led her astray. Until her first day of secondary school when she collides with a hotheaded boy who sparks a burning curiosity inside of her that only grows stronger by the day.

Falling into a complicated friendship with her father's apprentice, Aoife works to unravels the secrets around Joey Lynch's life, while he desperately fights to keep her out.

Friendship, devotion, and first love all come together in Saving 6, the first of two books for Aoife and Joey.

Based in Ireland, the Boys of Tommen series is bound to captivate and lure you into the world of rugby, hurling, love, and teenage heartbreak.

Great audio

I loved the audio with the two different characters. Made me feel like they were actually the ones telling the story.

Joey breaks my heart - Another 6 star read

**6 stars**
🌶🌶.5

Joey officially owns a piece of my heart. He already did from Binding 13 and Keeping 13, but reading his book put me through the ringer. I love him, and my heart breaks for him throughout this book. The amount of pressure on this young man's shoulders to provide for his family and deal with his father's abuse is astounding. Reading his POV put me through a roller coaster of emotions, and it was so hard to see his struggles with addiction.

Aoife was such a feisty, strong, and loyal heroine. She loves Joey with everything she has, and you see how she also has to struggle with his problems with addiction. God, this book killed me, and I have a feeling the next one will be even more emotional.

I listened to this on audiobook and cried my eyes out multiple times. No author has made me cry more than Chloe Walsh. She is a master story teller who is able to make you feel deeply connected to each of her characters. The narrators Matthew Forsythe and Jacqueline Mine bring so much heart to this audiobook. I could feel Joey's devastation.

WOW!! Amazing!!

This story broke my heart into million pieces and then put it back to then break it again. Love like this is hard to find and toxic but it’s so earth shattering that you have to hold onto all the good parts because you know the bad parts can destroy you. I love everything about this book and more!!

So sad

This book is literally heartbreaking. I love Joey sooo very much that it ripped my heart apart reading about his self destruction. I had to take so many breaks throughout the reading of this book because it is so very sad. The love that he and Aoife share is so beautiful. I truly hope that he will be able to overcome his demons

The ending 💔

Well… it was definitely a lot more emotional roller coaster. I’m not a fan of this version of Aoife really annoyed me! And I get it she is supper young and still learning/maturing as she grows, but I found her annoying, spoiled, & dumb. I think it was messed up how she stringed Paul for almost 4years like girl! And I see why she did due to her trauma of her parents relationship affecting her on not wanting to fall in love but girl! That was messed up on her end and like she acknowledged why Paul acted the way he did which a lot of it wasn’t acceptable but why make your self be the “victim” when she clearly didn’t hold him on his actions. But once she started to be with Joey she definitely started to mature a bit but still acted very immature for him in my personal opinion. In the end he was begging her he needed to learn how to heal but I felt like she need to learn how to be a friend to him not a partner which she wasn’t comprehending once again it has to do a lot with different of maturity she was in mentally then Joey was let’s see how the 2nd book will go I still like more Jonny & Shann better relationship/story.
