About this listen

Six guns, whips, and wild, wild women! 1876: Time to throw away the corsets and draw down on the Old West. When Horace Greeley said "Go West Young Man" he never would have thought that two young women would take his advice to heart. Striking out against all odds and risking everything to be together. Society calls them Sapphists. Chief Sitting Bull calls them "Big Magic". Buffalo Bill Cody and Wild Bill Hickok call them friends. Pinkerton's detectives want them alive. Clarke Quantrill's gang of outlaws want them dead. Two runaway women in a man's world risk their very lives to be together.

amazing story with am outstanding narrator

This book kept me late for work for a few days as I couldn't seem to stop listening to it at bedtime. I look forward to more from this author AND narrator. It was most fantadtic hearing all of the voices in her repertoire.

Dime store Lesbian

I really really loved this I enjoyed it a great deal ,I closed my eyes and felt the sun on my back and the dust in my eye's and was quite happy to be taken along the plains of America ,with our two heroins and their historical band of characters you will come across in this charming tale.Good humor and good drama the only grip I have is there isn't more of this type of book to choose from.(hint hint)

Extremely disappointing

Would you try another book from Sugar Lee Ryder and J. D. Cutler and/or Secunda Wood?

I would not purchase another book from these authors. I would think twice before buying a book that was narrated by the narrator of this book, although, I might give it a try to see if the narrator was hampered by the lack of good material.

What was most disappointing about Sugar Lee Ryder and J. D. Cutler ’s story?

Within the first few chapters, it is abundantly clear that this story could never have occurred. The language used is language of today and not that of the 1870s. The historical figures were unrealistic and I have to wonder what research the authors may actually have done.

What didn’t you like about Secunda Wood’s performance?

The fact that on occasion the voice for the different characters were mixed up. Again, though, perhaps a better job could have been done if the content of the story had been better.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Sagebrush & Lace?

All of the ones with references to historical figures.
