About this listen

Sleeping with the enemy? Well, now she works for me.

Rian was my rival in college, vying for the same internship. Sometimes enemies are fire between the sheets - we were. Until she walked off with the internship. Now, the smart-mouthed beauty who always kept me guessing got downsized and takes a job out in Nebraska out of desperation.

She's working for me. I don't mind her working under me, but I'd rather have her in bed. Or across this desk. Her ideas are brilliant and the flirting is hot, so we're playing with fire. Against company regulations, we have a blazing secret affair. I can't get enough of her, and I know she feels the same way.

Everything's like a fantasy until a phone call sends her into a panic, and our sexy business trip is cut short. Because Rian has a secret. She took more from me than that internship in college. She has a daughter - my daughter. A child who was kept secret from me by the enemy I've come to love. Nothing can ever be the same now that I know her secret.

Contains mature themes.

The story line great.

I think the voices did not match the cover, the voices seemed a lot older and not comparable.

Story was pretty good, narration sucked!

The guy wasn't to bad but the female was awful! The story was pretty good but I almost stop listening because of the narration.

When the truth is hidden.

I liked that they had a second chance even though trust was a big issue. Narrators made it engaging.

Love

The performance was great, specially the male lead. First I was angry with the heroine for not telling, but in the end it all worked out

Okay but very glad I didn’t pay for this.

The story itself is fine but the characters are quite annoying, the writing is pretty bad and it outside of the two main characters there is almost no other storyline. It was short enough that I made it though, but it wasn’t easy.

Not so great characters [spoilers]

Listened on Audible and read along thru KU membership.

Only found this story searching for Wayne Mitchell as Narrator .... love his natural voice, but not found if his alternate character voices.
Elizabeth Hart's narration always get on my nerves. She ends so many sentences with the an upsweep inflection of a question or of pauses.

Disliked the FMC.

Rian's inner dialog seems insecure, immature, and lacking confidence. How was she a single career mother in NYC? How did she make it for 7yrs?
Who keeps their child a secret from the company? She didn't know Wes even worked at this company, so there is no reason to hide that from your employment records. Rian needed to include her daughter to have her on the insurance and make sure she's listed on the life insurance, etc. This is unrealistic and foolish.

As the new CEO Wes should have immediately called HR and George. Then again when the kid, Ronny, is revealed as his unknown child.

The whole email story? Please!!! Beth never should have been listened to after the "dinner / calendar" overstep.
Why didn't he bring in his own assistant? Beth would have been sent to HR for a write up just with her bitchy attitude on Rian's first day! I funny tolerate that bullshit.

Thought it odd there was never a mention of their parents. They were both from NB, did they stay in NorthPlatte or were they in a smaller community? I would have preferred some of these details instead of hearing over and over and over and over and over how she kept the birth a secret. WE GOT IT THE FIRST TIME -->STOP REPEATING <-- FOR THE SAKE OF WORD COUNT.

Wes should have contacted an attorney immediately, regardless of needing to move forward with any legalities.

Decent HEA
Would not use a credit for book or audio. Enjoyable if included in subscriptions.
