About this listen

Molly Graham doesn't believe in love at first sight or fairy tales. She's been burned too many times before. But when she stumbles across a very handsome British professor, Albert George, seeking refuge in her office during the Museum of Literature's Valentine's Day gala for the opening of their Austen exhibit, she can't help but be drawn to the fellow introverted academic. Together, they ghost out of the event and embark upon a monthlong love affair. Just as she’s rethinking her stance on happily ever afters, he disappears.

Afraid something bad has happened, she searches for him only to discover there is no Albert George affiliated with the university. She's been played for a fool. But when she travels to England to return the Jane Austen exhibition materials on loan from the Whitmore Estate, Molly is introduced to Earl Whitmore and his grandson Lord Insley - or, as she knows him, Albert George. She is shocked and dismayed to discover she’s fallen in love with a viscount in line to be an earl.

Although he had to leave her unexpectedly, he hasn't been able to forget her, and he wants to win her back. But she refuses to be taken in twice. He’ll have to channel his inner Fitzwilliam Darcy to prove to her that love conquers all.

Short Fun Love Story

I enjoyed this story, with the new to me author and narrator. It has fun elements of Jane Austen and a sweet love story that isn't too insta-lovey for a novella. The main characters were fun, and the story is told in first person POV. I'd have liked Al's perspective once in a while. I liked Molly for the most part, she was a good character with strong values. Towards the end, one of the strong values got to be a bit much and it was a little annoying and I'd have liked her bestie to have stepped up sooner.
Overall, it's a nice fun story that I've glad I took the time to listen to!
This is a fun novella with light swearing and non-explicit intimate scenes (they were kind of fade to black, but still mentioned).

I enjoyed the narrator! I thought she really got into character and differentiated the voices of all the characters nicely. I listened at 1.15x speed.

Delightful Romance

This was an enjoyable light romance story. The narrator was very animated and voiced the various characters well.

Okay

First time author for me. This was a fairly short story that I listened to completely on audio. The narrator was Sara Young and I have to say that I REALLY had a problem with the narration. Unfortunately, quite a bit of this story had a character who has a British accent and the narrator REALLY did NOT do a British accent well...at all. It made my ears literally cringe every time I heard it and that really took away from the enjoyment of the story. Truly.

The story was a quaint (if unrealistic) quick story about a woman who works at New York's Museum of Literature. She meets and falls in love with a man who says he is someone and is actually someone else. He happens to be the grandson of a Viscount (imagine that).

Anyway, it was a quick short story that had a completed story arc - that's about it.

Light

If you go in with expectations that this is going to be a short, light bit of romance, it's fine. If you think for any amount of time about the plot or the themes, it all falls to bits.

I loved this short magical fairytale.

This was a wonderful short book to listen to on a rainy afternoon. It was somewhat predictable, but that made me love it even more.

I mean, aren’t Librarians the keepers of fairy tales anyway?

Cute, short, entertaining, light hearted.
It’s not Jane Austin folks, nor was it trying to be. Some reviews make it sound like it should have been and wasn’t.
Think of your favorite Rom Com movie. It probably didn’t sweep the Oscars, but you were still entertained.
I was entertained with this. Too bad there isn’t a sequel.
Enjoy
