Publisher's summary

The only thing harder than being a royal? Falling in love with one.

Belinda

As a political blogger living in Manhattan, I have no time to date. My few free hours are spent with best friend Soraya and her husband, Graham. Love has no place in this equation.

Then Prince Zan walks into the coffee shop. He’s confident and different from other men, making it clear from our first conversation royal lineage won’t stand in his way. I know better than to be carried away by green eyes and soft lips. But if that’s the case, how did I end up in his bed?

Zan

My dark past is a nightmare I can’t escape from. It was anything but easy to become a royal.

Then I met Belinda. She might be a commoner, but there’s nothing at all common about this woman. One look is all it takes. Maybe if I bring her to my homeland she’ll be under its spell, too. But the differences between our two worlds seem impossible to overcome. I refuse to ignore my duty and passion for my people, and Belinda won’t abandon her career.

The right woman or destiny? Whatever it takes, I'm determined to have both.

Royal Pain is another steamy edition to the Cocky Hero Club series by author Leslie Pike. Opposites attract in this royal romance of choosing between love and duty. Follow your heart by devouring this passionate love story today!

Nice royal story

The readers do a good job, but I personally found it a bit slow so I sped the reading speed up a bit.

The story is compelling, if a bit slow. The love of Zan by his adoptive parents and his for Belinda and his country shown through. Overall, a good listen.

Whitewashed

Hero was Zulu and Italian American raised in Africa mo accent. Native Mosians had no accent! Hero had black hair and green eyes. Cover model is blond and blue eyes!

Alyssa Cole three part series with African and black characters managed to find voice actors who didnt sound white.

Story line was good.

Too far fetched, but fairytale like.

The lead characters had no flaws. How does that happen? No real history for the female lead. I can't connect. I like the male lead, but he is less human and more on a pedestal. I need something I can halfway believe to remember this story in the future. Bad stuff happens and parts are really sad. still not close to either lead character. Not very moved. Felt closer to the side characters. I wish that Teddy could have researched the accent of the region more too. He felt too american. Not enough of his native sound. It was hard to believe he was from Africa. Usually Teddy kills it, but this one must have been hard. I get it, just disappointed I couldn't feel more in this story.

This is a good one

One of my favorite from the Hero Club collection so far. Both narrators were great. It was nice the story was centered around an area of the world not normally depicted in this genre.

Why?

Overall good book however...

The listener will note that in Chapter 2 the Prince is described as having a: Half American Italian Mother, Zulu Father with " Black Hair...Jewel Green Eyes...Mustache"

The photo on the cover of this book is of a man with blonde hair and a 5'Oclock shadow. It does not match his description. Thumbs down to whoever made that choice. Re-do?

Okay

The first book that started the “Hero Club Series” Soraya and Graham’s story Is “Stuck-Up Suit” by ViKeeland and Penelope Ward it took me forever to figure it out.
You don’t need to read the first book but if you want to....

Emotional Sweet and Steamy Royal Romance!

Royal Pain is an emotional, sweet, and steamy Royal Romance in the Cocky Hero world. This is the story of Belinda and Zan who are from totally different worlds but their attraction is instant, and chemistry is sizzling. I love how honest they were from the start with each other. It helped them face how different their lives were, and what it would take to bring their lives together. There were many twists and obstacles in their way and I was completely captivated in how it all unfolded.
Narrators Savannah Peachwood, and Teddy Hamilton did a great job bringing this story to life. They portrayed both Belinda and Zan with all their strengths and vulnerabilities so beautifully that I was easily lost in their performance.

One of the Best

I've listened to a lot of the Hero Club books and this one touched my heart like none of the others. I definitely recommend giving this one a listen.
