About this listen

Eli Grayson knew there was no such thing as magic. He knew there were no other worlds filled with magical races beyond his imagining. He knew he was a regular guy, just trying to recover from a brutally difficult breakup.

That is, until he foiled an assassination attempt on an elven princess who showed him exactly how wrong he was. He's thrust headfirst into a hidden world of potent magic and sinister plots only to discover he has powers of his own. Together with his team of magical ladies he unravels the mystery behind who ordered the assassination attempt in the first place, only to discover just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Eyes opened to the wider worlds.

Our MC saves the lives of some strangers and finds out there's a whole bunch of worlds he didn't know are real, are actually real.
He gains powers he didn't know he had and the people he saved now need to protect him from some very powerful people that want to either control him or kill him.
Awesome HaremLit.
I'm giving this book 8 out of 5 stars.

great story

Unfortunately there are too many that wouldn't do the right thing when called upon. This story shows you some amazing possibilities that could happen if you do. Well written story that keeps you reading. Can't wait for more.

Deep world building. However…..

I like the scenario. The background is well fleshed and the characters are believable. With one exception. As usual, the MC is a beta pretending to be an alfa. Men don’t respond like this guy to stressful situations. Second, I’m getting tired of read about guys who defend themselves and their loved ones by killing for the first time as “murderers” and “cold blooded”. Let me explain something to you my little ray of sunshine. If you kill an obvious lunatic before he or she can kill you or yours, you are not a murderer. These terms mean something. Stop confusing the two. It helps no one and confuses the less cognizant. Almost like you want to confuse the two…..

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I hope there are more books to come in this series! The MC is great along with a really good supporting cast! The story is captivating! The narrators also do a good job of bringing the story to life! Great job F G Smith!

Really good

The book is really well written with great structure, even tho a series is set up at the end the book has a very satisfying conclusion. The performance was fantastic aswell.

could have been great

I hate leaving lackluster reviews but in this case it couldn't be helped. The story itself had amazing potential it was engaging. Where everything goes down hill is the MC. I hate the whole Alpha male narcissistic MC that appears in so many books of this genre and you certainly don't have to worry about that here. Unfortunately this MC is so much the opposite that he just gets on your nerves with almost everytime he opens his mouth. i couldn't make it halfway through the book because he was that annoying. It's a good thing the author has him as Canadian because I kept waiting for him to apologize for everything. His inner voice always sounding so tough then his actions may as well have had him just begging for forgiveness for having had bad thoughts where he was actually a man.

Decent book with the dumbest protagonist yet.

Holy crap the protagonist of this book is so braindead. So much obvious stuff going on that there are constant hints to and all he ever does is react. He is never proactive nor does he think criticaly or connect the blatantly obvious dots. The guy cant even notice a false flag operation when he has more than enough clies for it.

Not That Great

The story doesn't sound fantastic, mainly due to the male narrator and voice actor for the main character was a horrible pick for this.

Author needs to keep his politics out of his books

First, the voice acting is odd the male VA is much worse than the female. That is a little easier to push through. The actually writing? The author needs to keeps his politics to himself, he very clearly leans one direction. Then we have the fact that the MC is clearly overly idealistic. He has a clear willingness to get stabbed over thinking a person is dangerous. There is an actual moment in the book where a person threatens to kill him and he state "threatening to kill a person is different from actually being willing to hurt someone" The person threatening him sees him as an animal. Why would he argue this point?

Simple, he thinks the world is made of rainbows even after having to kill an Assassin. The fact that the author clearly doesn't know half the things he's writing about makes it worse.
