About this listen

What is the harm in a small fib?

The earl's sister needs a summer companion. She must be a paragon of all that is proper and a firm subscriber to Mrs. Carver's Hints for Young Ladies.

Lady Constance is in disguise as Miss Violet, companion extraordinaire. Unfortunately she's impertinent and intolerant of bossy earls. However, she knows exactly what to do with Mrs. Carver's voluminous etiquette book: It will block that drafty French door nicely.

In the earl's not-so-humble opinion, a prune-faced spinster would have been preferable to this miss with the cascading honey locks.

RoseHill Manor, a Georgian romance set in the countryside, is a tale of deception, regrets, and a summer love meant to last a lifetime.

It's another great romance by Ms Louise:)

It's another entertaining, warm and unputdownable romance by Ms Louise:)

Lady Constance Chambreville, a life-long friend to Ms Larissa Wakefield, the sister of the Earl of Havington, is quite unexpectedly presented to him as his sister's paid companion. As such, she should be modest, proper and obedient. Well... she's not exactly that. But she wants to help her friend, so unwillingly she follows up with the ruse - to the Earl's constant chagrin... That's the starting point for a romance full of witty remarks, funny encounters and hillarious misunderstandings, with main characters that you like from the beginning... And yes, even the pompous Earl of Havington, Marcus Wakefield, turns out not to be such an obnoxious tyrant and dictator as he has been first painted by his sister:)

It's a really fast-paced book, with events and situations changing at a rollercoaster speed at times, and yet it's a really romantic, warm tale of two people who have been quite lonely and found love in the most unexpected place with the most unexpected person...:) And it has that charm of true love hanging in the air, that fairy tale charm we look for in good romances:)

Narration by Ms Jillings is wonderful. The pace is great, the voices very well done (I especially liked the voice of Lady Amelia, the Duchess of Allermaine) and the way she conveys all the emotions the story is full of is just perfect.

Wonderful read as usual

This was another wonderful read by Sharol Louise as usual.
I was totally immersed in the story and the Characters world by the first chapter or so. The antics Constance and Marcus got up to ended up being very funny. Lots of laugh out loud moments and surprisingly, also some poignant moments too.
The narration was great as well really bringing the story to life. None of the characters were superfluous to the story, so if i listed all the characters that made me laugh or smile or were memorable, I would be listing almost every character in the book.
I would love to see a sequel to this book, to find out who Larissa ends up with and to see some more verbal sparring between the 2 main characters.

I would highly recommend this book.

Looks Can Be Deceiving

What happens when you tell a small lie, big things go wrong. Just loved listening to this book. Doro Jillings is so good at her craft. You actually think you are right there with all the characters. Lady Constance wants her friend to enjoy her summer at RoseHill Manor, but in order to satisfy her brother the Earl, she must become Miss Violet, lady's companion. The charade gets harder everyday to pertend she is someone else in her own home.
I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review. Simply charming book.
