A lady bent on seduction....

Lady Othelia Grantham married the earl of Brighton, a man many years her senior, to save her family from financial ruin. The earl was pleasant, but no sparks existed between them. Now that Othelia is a widow, she vows to live life on her terms. Priority one—never marry again. Priority number two—experience passion. She sets her sights on the 9th Duke of Ashbrook. He is the perfect scoundrel to indulge her desire and carries no risk of marriage.

A rogue bent on reform....

Alister Brinsley-Radclyffe, Duke of Ashbrook, needs a duchess. A feat that should be easily accomplished by a duke, but even his title is not enough to redeem him from the reputation he’s built for indulging in sin. When a respectable young widow approaches him with a scandalous request, he cannot refuse. She may be his last chance to save his estates. He will teach lady Brighton about passion, and in doing so, he will capture her heart and fortune.

Only one can win....

If Othelia falls for the duke, she will lose control of her fortune and her freedom. If Alister cannot capture Lady Othelia’s hand in marriage, his legacy will be left in ruins. When true love blossoms, they find themselves at the edge of duty and desire. Only one question remains, who will come out the victor?

Widow Choice

I found this story to be sweet, light hearted at times, and sometimes a bit corny. Overall, it was a pleasant story. The story line was well developed, and made sense. The narration was good.

Cute story

This story is a quick listen. Ophelia wanted to assert her independence and ended up getting seduced and falling in love. Even though it was a quick listen it doesn't feel quick which is great. Also each character has a distinctive voice which is something you need to have in an audiobook.

Sweet and Steamy Regency Romance!

This book is part of the Wicked Widows' League, a multi-authors Regency Romance Series. I liked Othelia and Alister's short and steamy story. The storyline is fast-paced, and engaging. The characters are interesting. Marynn Franklin did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Rogue for the Taking!

This is a delightful Regency romance and a steamy read about Lady Othelia and the Duke of Ashbrook, Alister. It is a short and quick read/listen. The narrator did a good job bringing this story to life. Othelia was in a loveless marriage and now she finds herself widowed and in no need of a husband. She dreams of experiencing passion but never wishes to marry again. Alister, tainted by his parents marriage, thinks he is incapable of loving. He knows he will need to wed and produce an heir but just wants for one of convenience and mutual respect. However, he needs a wealthy wife seeing as his father left the estate is financial trouble. Othelia sets her sights on him to have an affair. Alister, on the other hand is bent on seduction and marriage. Only one can win? Such a good read from beginning to end.

Fun and Steamy

Lady Othelia Grantham was married to a much older man and endured a marriage devoid of love and passion. She doesn’t want another marriage, but a passionate affair. Alistair, Duke of Asbrook, is a rogue and a confirmed bachelor. However, he needs a bride with money to rescue his floundering coffers. Introduced at a ball, each seems to be exactly what the other wants. Perfect, right? Maybe not quite. This is a lovely steamy romance. I really like Othelia and Alistair. They think they know exactly what they want, until they meet. The secondary characters are delightful. Lovely narration by Maryann Franklin. An entertaining story and a nice addition to the Wicked Widows series.
