Publisher's summary

In this essential Star Wars Legends novel, discover the legacy of Rogue Squadron and its fabled pilots, who became a symbol of hope throughout the galaxy.

They are sleek, swift, and deadly. They are the X-wing fighters. And as the struggle rages across the vastness of space, the fearless men and women who pilot them risk both their lives and their machines. Their mission: to defend the Rebel Alliance against a still-powerful and battle-hardened Imperial foe in a last-ditch effort to control the stars!

Its very name strikes fear into enemy hearts. So when Rebel hero Wedge Antilles rebuilds the legendary Rogue Squadron, he seeks out only the best - the most skilled and most daring X-wing pilots. Through arduous training and dangerous missions, he weeds out the weak from the strong, assembling a group of hard-bitten warriors willing to fight, ready to die. Antilles knows the grim truth: Even with the best X-wing jockeys in the galaxy, many will not survive their near-suicidal missions. But when Rogue Squadron is ordered to assist in the assault on the heavily fortified Imperial stronghold of Blackmoon, even the bravest must wonder if any at all will survive....

Featured Article: Tap into Your Inner Jedi (or Sith) with the 66 Best Star Wars Audiobooks in the Galaxy

In the 45 years since George Lucas's interstellar fantasy epic Star Wars first hit theaters, the saga has grown to include 12 canonical feature-length films (and counting), a growing number of shows (both animated and live-action), and hundreds of novels and comics inspired by that galaxy far, far away. But there's nothing quite like the magic of a Star Wars audiobook. The stories featured in this collection are as vast and varied as the universe in which they're set.

Wonderful performance from Marc Thompson

Marc Thompson's narration is great as always. Michael Stackpole's Rogue Squadron series is a great piece of Star Wars fiction and I hope more of the series is adapted

Finally, the audiobook X-Wing fans have been waiting for…

X-Wing: Rogue Squadron and it’s sequels by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Alston are hands down my favorite Star Wars novels of all time. As an avid reader of all canon and most Legends Star Wars material, these books have always been considered the best of the best by me, and thousands of other EU fans. The decision to finally produce unabridged audiobooks of this series is one of the best decisions Del Ray and Lucasfilm publishing has ever made. The decision to hire Marc Thompson as the book’s narrator is right up there too. Needless to say, I am burning through this audiobook and will eagerly await the next books to be adapted into unabridged audio format as well. Long live Star Wars Legends!

Voices don't match previous books.

loved the book, perfomance was good. Some voices don't match earlier performances by Marc Tompson.

Great story of Legends!

listening easy with chapters not so long as to plod along. wonderfully read. background sounds complete with dialogue and mix with road noise to make the book hard to listen to on the road at times.

The best Star Wars action book and performance

This is the X-Wing series as it was meant to be enjoyed.

Finally an unabridged version, with the amazing Marc Thompson performing it.

Even though I read this book more than once twenty years ago when it first came out, I still found myself unable to put it down, staying up way too late listening to it.

I really hope the rest of the X-Wing series is recorded - it is my favorite Star Wars novel series (especially the Aaron Allston entries), and I've read over 40 of them, including the Thrown series.

Better than the Disney junk

I love the Legends/Extended Universe whatever you want to call it. It's the route that should have been taken.

True Star Wars Sequels

I really hate they start it with propaganda about how great it is they replaced the EU with new star wars. This is the real story.

The Rogues are Back!

Had a great time revisiting the inaugural book in the X-wing series, especially in the nice new trade paperback. With the added context from short stories and comics, Corran's journey is even more immersive, and the exploration of compelling villains promises more harrowing starfighter shenanigans!

Stackpole got me started in the EU, and he's earned his spot on all those favorite author lists. So glad they brought Marc Thompson back to narrate these!
