Publisher's summary

Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She's never known any others of her kind. Until now.

An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River - one that her father's people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help....

Have Mercy! Listen to another Mercy Thompson chiller.

Critic reviews

"An outstanding urban fantasy novel with some well-loved and well-traveled characters...The way [Briggs] writes about all of the different fictional supernatural creatures is fascinating and keeps you on your toes.” (Examiner.com)

Wonderful

After book 5 I had thought Patricia Briggs had lost direction with her Mercy character. I am very pleased with River Marked it brings us back to what made me fall in love with this series to begin with. A full cast of the characters we know and love yet continuing the story line in a way thats not repetitive. A wonderful book on its own and a great addition to the series. Lorelei King does a very good job narrating a must listen.

Kill the cheesy music, Please.

Great book for Mercy fans. The music at the beginning is so annoying- why do they do that?

Fan of Mercy

I have to say I have enjoyed every one of these books and unfortunately have to wait for my once a month fix(new book) . But then these books are so good I finish them to fast. I love the humor, romance, friendship, mystery and action and adventure.
I really enjoy all the personalities in the book . I highly recommend this series.I do read some of the reviews and their have been books that deal with subjects that are harder. But, they are written well and I have still enjoy them.
This book was good because it brought in the Indian magic and some history which is nice to balance out the character.
The only negative is ( and this is personal opinion and not a big deal) Mercy seems to end every book bloody and broken. I appreciate that she is still very human and has her limits but geez.... the poor girl has had been beaten and abused. She always comes out on top but geez....

GIVE ME MORE

Would you listen to River Marked again? Why?

listened to this one twice, I had to go back and confirm a few context clues that hint at what might be coming up in the next book...can't wait.

What was one of the most memorable moments of River Marked?

I was seriously concerned for our girl on the banks of that river! I mean she really gets herself in some spots. Also, what's up with the daddy vision? That's all I'm gonna say, no spoilers from me!

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Love Lorelei King, she does male voices as well as female, and she gets that frustrated Werewolf voice just right, you can really tell Mercy can irritate even the most patient man. LOL

Any additional comments?

When is the next one coming out? Make sure you read the Alpha and Omega series too.

Entertaining

What made the experience of listening to River Marked the most enjoyable?

I like the character Mercy. She's interesting and self reliant, but not a super hero.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she adds a dimension of reality to the characters that one might not find for themselves.
