Really exciting listen
I actually did not know much about the mythology and legend that fuels this story, so it was incredibly fun to catch up. The pace is excellent. The characters are well-rounded. And the narrator is awesome. This is a delight.

Decent fantasy horror
But are there Chinese Samurai? Seems like for a story of Chinese mythological influences there was a lot of Japanese influence.

Awesome Story! I want more!!!
I enjoy this story of the brotherhood of the Samurais. Their once beloved Dojo or Buddhist training was a crazy twist reminds me to add zombies to the story. Great adventures! I love the read!

A good story
There were a few distracting quirks about the story that threw me off such as the mixing of cultural histories and mythologies. It didn't hampper my enjoyment of the story itself though it did have me double checking Eastern history.
The use of descriptive metaphor shines when the scene calls for it but it does overall feel a little overused. it slows pace of the story somewhat.
When the story shifted into horror is when it gets the most interesting.

Very Unique Twist at the End
"Rising Sun: Echoes of the Damned" by Satori Saru plunges readers into a world brimming with darkness and demonic forces. The legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong, takes center stage alongside a band of warriors, forging an unlikely alliance. Redemption, sacrifice, and the fight against inner demons weave a compelling narrative.

A Fellowship Forged in Fire

Interesting story you haven’t heard before
I really liked the fact that the style was completely new to me. The book was short about 4.5 hours but that was perfect for my work out and before bed listen. I would have never thought a samurai novel would find its way into my collection but I’m glad I have it a shot! Worth the listen and I give it a solid 5 stars.
