Great action…

But with all of the Chinese names I wish the narrator would take the time to learn to pronounce them correctly.

The books pretty good Characters are cool Narrator is good but for the voice of the main character Kind of nasaly or froggy as other people Would say If you can get through that part Then you'll enjoy it He does fine with all the other voices it's just the main character

Not bad, could be better.

This book is decent if you enjoy his other works. It takes place in the same or similar universe as his other series Condemning the Heavens but from the beginning it is inferior when compared to it (this book is older than that series). There are less details written in both descriptions and story causing it to feel somewhat lacking, a little harder to follow, and I feel a new readers to this author would be better to start on his later series, if you don't like that series you definitely won't like this one. As someone who enjoyed Condemning the Heavens and wanted to read more of this authors works I feel this book, while lacking, is a decent read for fans and I will be picking up the next book in this series.

not bad

the story is not bad the narration is not bad either. the biggest thing that I found that bothered me was how the narrator voiced the main character. it was very nasally.

This is the Author’s best work so far

This series is much better that his other one that was just too dark and depressing. I like a story that’s is a bit more light hearted with happier ending so you don’t feel so depressed with the typical Chinese everyone dies endings. Although it’s not Disney since a lot of people die, it is a cultivating world.

Worth a Credit

Not bad. I really like that the love interest isn't the first girl he meets. That's a really nice change to the usual format.
It's a good listen with a fairly solid storyline and an amazing VA.
Some things feel like they didn't get a solid enough explanation, some events didn't get the proper build-up I felt they should have, BUT you will not be hearing the MC's "Character Sheet" every fifteen minutes.
Most of the characters are decently well rounded and feel almost real. Though, some of the supporting cast (such as some of the teachers) are introduced and then left to the side without any development. Some develope (almost) randomly though, but that only really happened once.
Overall, I think it is a decent listen, and if you're on the fence they have the first two books in a bundle. Which, is always a good gamble. It won't have you sitting on the edge of your seat at any point though, so keep that in mind.

Great Start to a cultivation tale!

Not surprised after listening to the Condemning the Heaven’s Series, this was a great initial book, with plenty of balanced detail and action. Thanks for the entertainment!

Great performance by Scott Merriman, nothing to complain about at all!

Great story but....

Great story but I hate how ADD some of the thoughts are. Calls out to someone then goes into a 5 min sideline of other things and then slowly reverts back to the story again. I feel like I’m watching an anime with a bunch of filler.
