About this listen

From the Wall Street Journal best-selling co-author of the Tier One series comes a pause-resisting sci-fi thriller about the ultimate battlefield: the human mind.

Deep in the Afghan mountains, Sergeant Michael Pitcher discovers an object with powers that defy explanation. After interacting with it, he suffers a traumatic seizure and is flown home for evaluation.

Cleared by the doctors, Michael goes home to his relieved wife, Josie. But he’s a changed man. The once-loving husband is now coldly withdrawn. After emptying the couple’s bank account, he disappears into the night.

When a team of scientists connected to Sergeant Pitcher vanishes without a trace, CIA agent Dean Ninemeyer comes to him for insight - only to find that the recovering soldier has also disappeared.

Dean and Josie must now join forces in a desperate race against time, searching for answers in an ever-twisting mystery. What they uncover is a chilling conspiracy that already has the fate of the world in its grip.

Save the sermon.

The reasons I bought this title were, 1,Ray Porter,2, Brian Andrews. If one looks at my library they might find maybe 10% in this genre. I understand that Mr Andrews may feel passionate about this subject, but if I want to be talked down to I would watch CNN(national enquirer). I will try another BA title in the future hoping he gets back to Tier One like subject matter.

Wow Ray Porter Andrews both shine

Another excellent military finds an ancient alien artifact story similar in some ways to Earthcore, look that one up, also Porter. Great characters built in depth and a chilling plot - loved it - more please!

Awesome Joe Ledger type plot

Loved the plot and story. Ending was food for thought even though it seems Al Gore invented Eve. 🙄

great techno thriller and great delivery.

great concept and idea. loved how at the end the author also explained the research and his philosophy.

my only feedback is that the ending could explain the plan that was there all along much better. it left a lot of open questions.

The ending made it for me! (No spoilers)

I really like this listen, but I gave it only 4 stars overall. The performance is great, varies & nuanced. The story was good but not great compared to many stories I’ve read/listened to. But, the ending really brought it full circle & gave it so much more depth. W/o the ending, the story to me was 3 stars. With it, it is 4.
I’d like to read a continuation of this story b/c there is a lot of potential from this material.

At first it... but oh man.

At first this seemed like another twist on the whole zombie genre, but oh man it is way more that. I really can’t say to much, or I will spoil everything. Just let me say this book will take you for a ride and you will end up someplace you didn’t expect. 👍👍

Psychological Sci-Fi thriller with paradoxes.

Love the story. There were a couple glitches but we are dealing with science fiction The characters were fantastic very believable. Scary as hell in most places, laugh producing in others. The end was superior. Great homage paid to other fictional characters throughout. The play on some names was genius.Narrator was a tad annoying at times with the cadence of speach, otherwise good job on pronunciation.
