Jaci Burton Stand Alone or New Series? Good Book

What did you like best about Rescue Me? What did you like least?

As a huge fan of Jaci Burton and her Play by Play series, I was very excited to see her offer a book about cowboys.

While this didn't knock my socks off, it was well-written, performed (please get another performer to do your athletic series – THIS NARRATOR WAS GREAT and not the least bit nasally).

It was rather predictable as are most books in this genre but was believable and I enjoyed it.

If this is the beginning of a new series – then I am all in. But Jaci Burton seemed to tie up all the ends, so this is probably a standalone.

Notes: Some descriptions of sex

Credit worthy/$: I would use a credit (and did) on everything that Jaci Burton writes. So yes on the credit but I probably would not pay full for member price for this audiobook

Great Love Story

Enjoyed this one thoroughly! Great narration too. Are there others...a series? I would like to see what happens when Bradyvfinds the women of his dreams!

Feminist grade: B+

Overall, a pretty good book but I had issues with how the author made the guy have really sexual thoughts the moment he met her. Like, seriously? Can't a guy just look at a business partner without drooling after her appearance?

disappointed

Jaci has made her female characters strong, in this one she sent her back to an emotional abuser.

A very Predictable sweet love story

Any additional comments?

This book was boring and sooooo very predicable. No challenge in the story at all and one I would not listen to again...

Sabrina Daniels decides that she should pick up her life after her divorce by letting to be more assertive and finding her real self. She had been a beauty queen until she married at the age of eighteen and now that the marriage is over, she has no clear idea what she's to do with herself. Because she always likes horses and cowboys, she decides to invest her money in the failing Rocking M Ranch. She also decides to spend three months learning the ropes at the ranch. It will be fun, right...

Not according to big baby Kyle Morgan who comes with several Band-aids on his shoulders (at where all those huge chips have fallen off). His ex... wah, wah, wah. His parents... boo-hoo-hoo. His little buddy likes what it sees in Sabrina... sob, sob, sob. So he starts throwing sulks and being deliberately unpleasant to Sabrina. I don't know why. Shouldn't he be grateful that her money is saving the ranch? Oh, probably not, since only the Morgans should own the ranch so oh, this makes Kyle feel like a failure, how sad, so he's just going to show some sulky faces to Sabrina some more...

couldn't finish

Trades one emotional abusive jerk for another. Kyle just yoyos her all throughout the book (the parts i read, stopped at ch 10) She comes to help out financially by him teaching her to run a ranch, he gets pissed that shes there and is fitting in fast. He tells her to pick any room she wants, she picks and he gets mad. She offers to switch and he says it's "fine". He tells her she has to cook for everyone and scoffs that shes never cooked, so she gets out cook books and makes a great meal annnnd.....he gets mad! Can't with this book anymore. I love Jaci Burton and have read almost all of her books and i will continue to read her but this book is not up to her usually great characters.
