About this listen

The Gray Man's search for missing intelligence agents plunges him deep into a maelstrom of trouble in the latest entry in the number-one New York Times best-selling series.

The first agent disappearance was a puzzle.

The second was a mystery.

The third was a conspiracy.

Intelligence operatives around the world are disappearing. When a missing American agent re-appears in Venezuela, Court Gentry, the Gray Man, is dispatched to bring him in, but a team of assassins has other ideas. Court escapes with his life and a vital piece of intelligence.

Meanwhile, CIA agent Zoya Zakharova is in Berlin. Her mission: to infiltrate a private intelligence firm with some alarming connections. The closer she gets to answers, the less likely she is to get out alive.

Court and Zoya are just two pieces on this international chessboard, and they're about to discover one undeniable truth - sometimes capturing a king requires sacrificing some pawns.

Action Packed Thriller!!!!

The title is very fitting for the tenth Gray Man book. In this book the Poison Apple team of Court, Zack and Zoya are split up. Court is recovering from an infected wound, Zack has been imprisoned after being identified with facial recognition brought to Venezuela by a rogue CIA employee. Zoya is sent undercover to Berlin where she is identified by Russians wha have a kill order on her. I’m sure you can guess that Matt Handley will not allow Court to completely recover before calling him into service to complete Zack’s mission which he does. He does and then without permission he too heads off for Berlin to make sure Zoya is safe. Of course she’s in trouble and Court makes a last minute rescue.
Pay attention because there is more than one group of bad guys out there and they each have their own agenda which seems to involve killing at least one of the team.
This book is so packed with globe trotting action. It surely is RELENTLESS !!!!
Jay Snyder’s narration is first class.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Always awesome! A truly wonderful series..

I love Court, Matt, Zack and Zoya. If either of them ever gets killed I doubt I would ever read Mark Greaney again. I just can't read an author that kills off his main characters.

This was just as exciting as all the others, even though it wasn't as good as all the others. I mean it was still excellent with all the terrorist's and the killing BUT I wasn't crazy about Court being so ill and Matt needing him for a mission. I mean really, he was feverish all the time and the infection he suffered from wasn't even gone until the end of the book. It's a good thing he had Dr. Azra Kaya to take care of him when he was at his weakest.

No sex but a couple of kisses between Court and Zoya. And the F-bomb was used 94 times.

As for the narration: Between Jay Snyder and Luke Daniels and Scott Brick I'd be hard pressed to choose my favorite narrator. I guess he'd be the one reading to me at the moment.

Not my Favorite Gray Man Book

This is not a bad story, but it’s not my favorite of the series. I think that’s because you don’t spend as much time with Gentry as you do in the other books, and he’s the main draw. But with Zack and Zoya back the whole gang is together, so that was enjoyable. The ending was good, but frustrating because it’s super hard to wait for the next book. Hopefully pandemic writing agrees with Greaney and he’s churning out pages. And, as always, Jay Snider is an amazing narrator, and does a fantastic job with this book.

Ups and downs. Better than book 9, though.

Firstly, I want to start by saying that I'm glad My Greaney dropped his failed experiment to write these books in the first person, as with book 9 in the series. I remember reading reviews of that book and not being the only person that was thrown by that sudden choice. So, rest assured, this is back to the same writing style as books 1 through 8.

Overall, I enjoyed it. Jay Snyder does another great job. But I do agree with others that there were too many characters. Particularly ones with Russian names. I often got confused about who was working for whom.
