About this listen
It begins with Red. Run, Red. Run!
In search of redemption from his sordid past, FBI Special Agent Alex Bailey takes on a new partner, Katherine Mitchel...and a new secret mission.
Before being assigned their first joint case, Katherine uncovers damning evidence against a major crime ring known as The Syndicate. The group controls key members of the DC Metropolitan Area Police, the US Congress, even the FBI, and they will stop at nothing to protect their interests. With her life on the line, Katherine is forced to put her faith in Alex as she flees from Washington, DC, and enters the Witness Protection Program.
Yet there's no hiding from The Syndicate.
In the most dangerous investigation of his career, Alex must decide how far he is willing to go to keep Katherine safe, and to stop The Syndicate.
Evolved Publishing presents the first book in The Syndicate-Born Trilogy, an exploration of what happens when one well-placed group possesses too much power, and how it affects those who just get in its way.

True crime writer Wylie Lark doesn’t mind being snowed in at the isolated farmhouse where she’s retreated to write her new book. A cozy fire, complete silence. It would be perfect, if not for the fact that decades earlier, at this very house, two people were murdered in cold blood and a girl disappeared without a trace.

A tense story told in a great performance
(Note: I received a free promotional code in exchange for my unbiased review.)
I found myself surprised with how quickly and compellingly the action ramps up in "Red On The Run," and like another reviewer I faced the problem of not wanting to turn it off when other things in life intervened (and I'm almost considering a ten-hour road trip just so I can listen to this recording nonstop). It's a suspenseful story that draws you in and has you holding on more quickly than you realize.
What makes this audiobook particularly compelling is Monique Bagwell's effective narration. Her smooth, steady storytelling conveys just the right sense of suspense, drama, action, excitement, worry...whatever mood a scene calls for, she weaves it with just the right touch. And her skillful personification of characters brings them to life in your mind's eye as real and believable people that you care about. Monique's narration makes a thrilling story even more compelling. You'll like this one, so check it out.

Interesting premise+ VO gravitas= Compelling story
What starts as a smoldering slow burn in a bar between Alex and a newly single Catherine erupts into melee and descends into one intrigue after another., thanks to audiobook veteran Monique Sacay-Bagwell. Ms. Bagwell brings the gravitas and grounded versatility of roles in a clever whodunit that will keep you hanging on!
K. M. Hodge's stirring depiction of corruption, conspiracy, passion, double-dealing and plot twists confess to a head in an audiobook that invites you in, enticing you further.

Get ready for the adrenaline rollercoaster
I'm an avid book listener and I throughly enjoyed 'Red on the Run' narrated by Monique Bagwell. The adrenaline rollercoaster storyline kept the reader wanting more and I followed along with ease, even with constant start and stops on my part. The narration style made it easy to follow the characters and I felt like it was more akin to storytelling rather than reading a book aloud. Her use of her voice and even breath made the words and characters come alive. I can't imagine the difficulty in creating a character from a voice alone, but one critique would be that the main character [Katherine] is such a strong/modern female, which by the way I'm excited to see a book revolve around, but her voice during fragile moments loses too much of her strength. I look forward to the rest of the series. I have been given a complimentary code in order to give an unbiased and honest review of the audiobook.

Suspense, Intrigue, and Romance.
As this is the first book in a trilogy, I’m assuming it was the character building piece in the story. While it did have some suspense and action, it revolves mostly around the romance and lives of the main characters. I enjoyed the listen and am looking forward to book 2 to see where the story takes us.

Need a good book to read on vacation?
While this was not the perfect book for me, it just might be the one for you. Do you like action and intrigue, mixed liberally with some bodice-ripping romance? Then you need this novel! It's fast-paced and not too deep. I think this tale would be best enjoyed on a road trip or while sipping something cold and fruity by the pool. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing life to the characters. I hope to hear more books from her in the future.

Fast paced, captivating thriller with lots of twis
This audiobook really surprised me, I expected it to be a suspense filled thriller but did not expect an emotionally charged, complicated story, full of shocking betrayals, corruption, loss, intrigue, twists and romance. It is definitely in the “couldn’t put it down” category.
Alex Bailey is a CIA agent working undercover in the FBI to try to bring down a corrupt, violent organization know as The Syndicate. His new partner in the FBI is agent Katherine Mitchel, who’s husband, Charles, is suspected of being a member of that group. Corruption is running deep and wide, and the danger and risks are high for those trying to uncover it. This is a fast paced story in which the author not only pulls you into a convoluted tale of crime, deception and power, but also gives us a look at the effects and consequences this work can have on the people who enforce the law.
I loved the damaged, marvellously illustrated characters and how you are drawn into all their individual lives. The richness and depth of the characters was brought to life by the narrator and it makes your heart bleed for them. She did an excellent job of portraying the tension, drama and suspense, bringing this complex tale to life and making it easy to follow.
This is a captivating story in which the various arcs slowly built in intensity, twist then built again, to reach often shocking conclusions. The various threads are expertly drawn together at the end to give you a complete story with just enough room left in the overarching arc to draw you to the next book. I am definitely going to enjoy the rest of the series if it is anywhere near as good as this first one.

Wonderful listening experience
I was given a complimentary code for my unbiased review of this book...
The reader caught me immediately with her clear and concise reading of this engaging story, I commute long distances and was thrilled to have a story that made me wait till the absolute last second to turn off my iPhone....
till the 2nd part of my journey would allow me to get back into this well executed novel.
The length that the narrator went to to draw me in, made the story so much more alive. Her diction and emphasis allowed me to get lost in the characters easily, feeling as if I could “see” them and therefore experience the story in a deeper way. All in all I will look for both this author and narrator in future purchases,
Easily one of my better choices this year.

Good read
Red on the Run (The Syndicate-Born Trilogy #1), my first read from author K.M. Morgan I originally got this book back in January of 2017 & one thing lead to another and I never got around to reading it until now. Now I’ve been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it and since I own both the Audible & Kindle editions I was able to follow along while being read to. Monique Bagwell’s talented, matter-of-fact narration adds to the well-written book's enjoyment. I’ll be reading more from this author! Better yet this is the first book in a multi-book series that I look forward to reading. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
