Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Penelope Douglas comes the latest new adult romance with a bit of everything...friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and a somewhat interesting use of public places.

Misha

I can't help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever... And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there's one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We had only three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name's Ryen, loves Gallo's pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F--k it. I need to meet her.

I just don't expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn't written in three months. Something's wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I'm going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It's my own fault. I should've gotten his phone number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn't even know it.

5 stars easily

This was fantastic!! Hooked from beginning to end. When you thought it was getting predictable, a twist gets thrown in!! Loved it!

LEARNING HARD LESSONS OF BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF

Even though the characters were in high school, I still loved listening to their struggles with and triumphs over being true to who they were. The way PD tied the ends together totally surprised me, which is hard to do! And her characters were so very real.

Great narration with more applause for Laurie than Matthew, but nonetheless, talented portrayals.

TWO THUMBS UP! 👍🏻 👍🏻

Wow

I knew I'd love this book within the first 5 minutes. I wish I could pin point what made this book a good book, but I can't. You'll just have to listen to it.

Classic Penelope Douglas

Enjoyable listen, the narrators did a great job. I like books by Penelope Douglas due to the fact she writes a great story and the angst level is never overblown.

not bad

so the first 3 hours or so of this story is seriously bad. cringeworthy even. it's like a bad john green book with too many weird aspects that get confusing. after that the book finally starts to get better and it feels like this is what the story should have been all along. love this author!

I love this audiobook!!

I highly recommend this audiobook. I read the book and liked the story. Then I purchased the audiobooks and I have listened to it so many times.

No spoilers. The story is about Ryen and Misha who have been pen pals since grade school. They have never met in person and only write letters, but have become good friends. Misha ends up at Ryen’s school, and has discovered her without her knowing the that new guy she is attracted to is her friend Misha.

There are multiple factors that relate and contribute to events in the story. These events and supporting characters add to the story of how the relationship between Misha and Ryen changes and grows. Worth the credit.

The Letter

I completely enjoyed this book but the very last chapter with the letter to Delilah was the best. More people should do this.

This was a really good book

Could not put it down, made me think back a lot about when I was in high school not so much but all the drama of popularity was there. and the love that was found amongst it all was beautiful
