Most people think it's because these companies are somehow able to find and attract a level of talent that makes this innovation possible. Great content, narrator makes me want to claw my eyes out
This book is a dive into the Association of International Product Marketing & Management (AIPMM) Optimal Product Process, as taught but the 280 Group. The content is fantastic. They provide a detailed introduction to Product Marketing in general and the OPP framework specifically. The book decomposes each step in the process and each deliverable.
The problem, this narrator’s voice tone and timbre come off as board and condescending. So much so that I’ve started and stopped the audio book a half dozen times before giving up and moving to the kindle version.
I thought it was just me so I asked both my manager and my team to review it and ALL of them gave me the same feedback. Terrible vocal performance for a reference/educational topic.
Seriously, get the kindle or paper edition instead.

Outdated and sexist
The overall content is fine, but the sexist tone is shockingly outdated.
Not only do the authors consistently refer to the product manager as ‘he’, they happily switch to ‘she’ for more admin type roles like a scrum master.
I think the worst example has to be the section on how to dress where they actually say”women typically dress one level higher than men” with zero self awareness of the double standard.
