About this listen

The swashbuckling adventures of Captain Kate Fitzmaurice continues in this thrilling continuation of the epic tale of the Dragon Corsairs.

Captain Kate escapes the hangman's noose with the help of Prince Thomas, only to discover to her dismay that her dragon friend, Dalgren, has gone back to his homeland to face trial for desertion. Spymaster Henry Wallace plots to stop Prince Thomas from gaining the Freyan throne as the prince makes a daring move to prove his claim.

A dangerous mission to the dark world of the Bottom Dwellers leads Kate to the discovery of a dark plot that threatens the lives of her friends and places the fate of a nation in her hands.

Fantasy, Dragons, Pirates and Steampunk Airships!

One of my favorite fantasy series continues! Couldn't stop listening...

Appropriate for all readers who love fantasy - no "one-off-sex-scene" to ruin it for sharing with your friends and family.

NOTE -- if you want to listen to every book in this fantasy world -- (Audible has #3 categorized into the wrong series) here they are in order (1) "Shadow Raiders" (2) "Storm Riders" (3) "The Seventh Sigil" (4) "Spymaster" (5) "Privateer" and (6) "Kingmaker". While they are all very very good -- #4-6 are amazing!

great action and narration

I truly enjoyed this book! The action is scattered throughout the book - a great storyline! The characters are fleshed out so well that you can envision them and make them alive. The wonderful narrator has a lot to do with that. She is what makes you feel as if you were there in person. She has voices for everyone so you can see who's speaking. I would strongly recommend this book as well as the book one the Spymaster.

Incredible Story Imaginative World

This second book of the series, literally takes off! I highly recommend listening. The world is fully developed here. Conveyance is by animal power and magic power. There are the regular horses and such, like we have in the “real” world. And also, there are three types of flying “beasts” to convey humans. The story includes: royal and working classes of people, soldiers, politicians, magicians, mundanes, professors, spies, bottom dwellers, and the inhabitants of various countries. Dragons speak like aristocrats, by the way. It’s very entertaining in the final chapters where you find out how all the pieces meet together, and in some surprising ways.

I cannot stand this woman!

Not a bad story but I cannot stand the heroine. She is such an idiot. Again & again she makes stupid decisions that result in worsening situations. Same is true of her sort of boss, Sir Henry. How did he become the Spymaster when he repeatedly refuses to accept information that is smacking him in the face.

I read the first book & convinced myself that since the story was not bad, that Kate would improve & supposedly super smart Sir Henry would get with the program. Sorry, no.

Had to put this one down & I am not buying the final book. Really disappointed. Everyone else is smart, what is wrong with Kate & Sir Henry?
