The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Publisher's summary
Includes an audiobook-exclusive interview with the author!
Make achieving your goals and finding success possible with this one-of-a-kind guide by Robert Irvine, popular host of Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible. Audio book includes exclusive bonus audio content!
Robert Irvine knows a thing or two about business. For over 200 episodes of Food Network’s hit show Restaurant: Impossible, he’s helped failing entrepreneurs make the necessary changes to reverse course and transform their businesses from the brink of collapse to sustainable enterprises. And he doesn’t just talk a good game; Irvine is a successful entrepreneur himself with a family of companies to his credit, from frozen foods and liquor to protein bars, restaurants, a traveling live show, and a namesake foundation that gives back to America’s veterans and first responders.
Now Irvine is sharing the success secrets he has learned along the way so he can help others thrive. As he says in the book: “I’ve always wanted to write this book, and now I finally have enough hindsight to analyze the moves that transformed me from an aspiring entrepreneur to a successful one.” In this book, you will:
- Learn how to stop micromanaging.
- Understand what really motivates you, how to be accountable, and how to manage ego.
- Foster the traits of authenticity and trust into your culture.
- Change your mindset around technology and social media.
EXCLUSIVE BONUS CONTENT WITH ROBERT IRVINE: Listen in on a conversation between Robert Irvine and co-author Matt Tuthill, in which they discuss the origins of Overcoming Impossible and delve deeper into several topics from the book, including:
- Why employers need to trust their employees totally, and how to build that trust.
- Why it’s essential to admit mistakes—and have a sense of humor about them.
- How ego can destroy otherwise great businesses.
- How accepting seed funding from family and friends can sink your business before it even opens.
- The value of haters—how they can motivate you and what they can teach you.
- Why it is essential that you hire people that can outshine you. A’s should never hire B’s. They should always be on the hunt for the A-plus.

There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

"Years ago, I wrote about a retail store in the Palo Alto environs—a good one, which had a box of two-cent candies at the checkout. I subsequently remember that 'little' parting gesture of the two-cent candy as a symbol of all that is Excellent at that store. Dozens of people who have attended seminars of mine have come up to remind me, sometimes 15 or 20 years later, of “the two-cent candy story,” and to tell me how it had a sizable impact on how they did business."

Reporting live in January 2020, Gutman found himself in the throes of an on-air panic attack—and not for the first time. But Gutman’s January 2020 broadcast was noteworthy for all the wrong reasons. Mid-panic he would misstate the facts of a story, a blunder that led to a month-long suspension. It was a wake-up call. Gutman’s panic attacks were too much for him to bear in secret. He needed help. So begins the author's personal journey into the science and treatment of panic attacks.

It's easy to cancel something from our lives when it comes to technology, television shows, or choices of food and drinks. A wealth of knowledge from the man himself
I don’t normally leave reviews, but when you’ve read a book like this for four times and running, you just have to share your thoughts!
Robert Irvine is one of my favorite people in the world, so there’s bias there already. But a lot of his advice stems from many of the realities I face as an entrepreneur. The advice he gives is consistent with the advice he gives the folks from his shows, as well as some much needed perspective that many of us might need.
Simply put, this book is a wholesome and educational way to really truly aim for the heavens with your ambitions, and a great read every time you need to reignite your passion for your business.

5 people in your inner circle is KEY!
If you are starting or running a restaurant or pizzeria, this book is a must.
Robert will become part of your inner circle of friends to grow stronger and successful. Stronger for yourself and the staff who strive to take pride while helping people/families break bread at your establishment.
Grateful for Robert Irvine.
