Publisher's summary

“Napoleon Hill was one of America’s great, influential thinkers who continues to have an enormous impact today.” - Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine

Bestselling author Napoleon Hill reveals the seven principles of good that allow us to triumph over obstacles...and find success.

Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Critic reviews

"My simple faith is this: If we are created in God’s image, then we were born to create, and to create is to prosper. [This] previously unpublished Napoleon Hill manuscript.... I’ve read it and recommend it." (Rich Karlgaard, Publisher of Forbes magazine)

It was a good book.

What made the experience of listening to Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil the most enjoyable?

It was read in a creative way, with different characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked him, interviewing his dark side.

Have you listened to any of Dan John Miller and Phil Gigante ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil?

It is not about the money. It is about how you want to use the money.

Any additional comments?

I liked that he used Samuel Insull as an example of how not to end up. I've heard that Orwell invented Citizen Kane as mixture of William Randolph Hearst and Samuel Insull.

Love Napoleon Hill information. Annoying narration

What made the experience of listening to Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil the most enjoyable?

Napoleon's storytelling is as pertinent today as it was in his time.

If you’ve listened to books by Napoleon Hill and Sharon Lechter (editor) before, how does this one compare?

Our family of 3 has all concluded that the narration of this story was annoying. Perhaps suited for a high school or college class, but did not find the narration an improvement to Napoleon's information.

Worth the read

If you can look past the way the information is given (the interview), the content itself is impressive.

Had to listen in short bursts

Any additional comments?

I was determined to finish this book because of the reviews I read about how transforming the information was (it was pretty good), but I had to listen to it just a little bit at a time because the narration was choppy.
