Publisher's summary

Defense lawyer Andy Carpenter spends as much time as he can working on his true passion - the Tara Foundation, the dog rescue organization he runs. Lately Andy has been especially involved in a county prison program where inmates help train dogs the Tara Foundation has rescued to make them more adoptable, benefiting both the dogs and the prisoners.

One of the prisoners Andy has been working with is Brian Atkins, who has 18 months left on a five-year term for fraud. Brian has been helping to train Boomer, an adorable fox terrier the Tara Foundation rescued from a neglectful owner. Brian and Boomer are clearly a terrific match. In fact Andy hopes that Brian will adopt Boomer himself, once his sentence is up.

But one day Andy arrives at the prison to discover that Brian has used Boomer to make an ingenious escape, and man and dog are both in the wind. The next day the man on whose testimony Brian was convicted is found murdered. Brian is caught and arrested for the crime, though he forcefully asserts his innocence.

Suddenly Andy finds himself with a new client in Brian and a new dog in Boomer. And as he starts to dig deeper into the murder and the events leading up to it, Andy realizes he might be putting them all in far more danger than anyone had realized.

I felt lucky

I was looking for something to listen to that had Grover Gardner as the narrator! I happened upon the Andy Carpenter series and I have been hooked! The stories are a tad bit suspenseful and a tad bit funny! Two things I love in a story! I like that Andy doesn't take himself to seriously and is human in the stories! My favorite character has to be Marcus!

Once Again, A Great Listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Outfoxed to be better than the print version?

Yes, I would rarely agree but Grover Gardner's wonderful accent is so New Jersey! It really feels correct and makes it perfect, especially when Andy Carpenter wonders whether some mayor has upset Governor Christie when stuck in traffic. I can imagine this train of thought becoming part of the New Jersey consciousness.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scenes where Andy discovers his son has impressed his teacher with his math skills and then has to deal with his son's knowledge of bookies and points spreads. Andy hates work and being pulled out of his comfort zone and begrudgingly does it for clients –yet, eagerly embraces it for his son... Andy is a good father :-)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Andy Carpenter and the Mob's Dark Net Adventure

Good entertaining reading

Great narration. Good story. This was a little disappointing as opposed to the last: he more or less rushed to produce it? Its a good book however, and I enjoyed it.

Another winner from a great series

Revisiting Andy Carpenter, Tara, And the gang is always a fun time. It's like seeing an old friend that you're only able to visit with every few months.

Everything I Want From Andy Carpenter

Grover Gardner reprises his greatest role... David Rosenfelt gives him the material. All the ensemble's here to solve the double murder of IT executives. Whodunnit with dogs. Who can resist?

Mob Bosses, Aliens, Computer Nerds, watch out Andy

Andy is up to his pain in the ass ways again. To Andy's great detriment he has another client that is wrongfully accused of murder and since this client risked his life for a dog Andy is now obligated to help him. As usual Andy is stirring up trouble and the bad guys are not happy about it. Along with all of the gang it is great to be back in Andy Carpenter's world, I love all the returning characters Marcus, Willy, Pete, Edna, Sam, and Hyke was especially funny this book. The Andy Carpenter series is an automatic download for me and I can't wait for the next book to come out. The narrator has become the Andy, which only proves what a great narrator he is.
