Publisher's summary

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller with a brilliant twist

Marianne has a life others dream of. A beautiful townhouse on the best street in the neighbourhood. Three bright children who are her pride and joy.

Sometimes her past still hurts: losing her mother early, growing up in foster care. But her husband, Simon, is always there. A successful surgeon, he’s the envy of every woman they’ve ever met. Flowers, gifts, trips to France: nothing is too good for his family.

Then Simon says another woman’s name. The way he lingers on it, Caroline, gives Marianne a shudder of suspicion, but she knows it’s nothing - she can’t entertain this flash of paranoia.

In the old days, she’d have distracted herself by excelling at work, but Marianne left her glamorous career when she married. She’d speak to a friend, but she’s too busy with her children and besides, Simon doesn’t approve of the few she has left.

It’s almost by accident that Marianne starts to learn more about Caroline. But once started, she can’t stop, because what she finds makes her wonder: is the question she should be asking not "should I be jealous" but..."should I be scared?"

Fans of The Girl on the Train and I Let You Go who are looking for a dark, gripping psychological thriller with a final twist to put their jaw on the floor will love Our Little Lies.

annoying main character

The main character was too dumb. I got really annoyed with her choices. I actually skipped forward a bit sometimes.

It was okay.

I felt that it dragged on and on with the main character. It felt a little flat to me and I got bored as the same thing went on and on. Nice twist at the end but honestly not a satisfying ending for me.

A bit too drab but has a good twist

This was a pretty good story that maybe could have been a bit better if it wasn't dragged on so long.
I felt myself playing out the next scene in my mind to get it moving along.
most times I was right as it is predictable.
However, there is a little twist at the end that made the book worth the read (listen).

dark

You think you know, but you don't and it's so well written and performed you feel all the same emotions as the protagonist. Great read. Read in a day, actually.

Wow!

Usually when I begin one of my Audible books, my enthusiasm wanes. Depending on the book that can happen anytime from the first couple of chapters to wanting the author to hurry up and just end it already! This book was one of the few that I began and eagerly finished within a day. I enjoyed the performance and the story, even though I kinda guessed the end. One of my favorite Audible books.

Captivating

The story starts a bit slow but only on the first few minutes but then you want to know more and more. I didn’t think I would like hearing someone reading to me but I really enjoyed it.
