Publisher's summary

Elven Worlds Book 1: a new high fantasy adventure from bestselling author R. K. Lander.

All things die—even elves. But immortality comes at a price: leave everything behind—everything except memories . . .

In the second elven world of Naz'arán, chaos reigns in the south as the demi-god Arzen and his revenant army threaten to destroy everything in their path. Only one elf has the power to turn the tide of war—but he can't even remember who he is.

Feldar was brought back to life by the Master Dominie, but his memories are slow to return. In time, he must join the Order of Shirán and find a way to stop Arzen from annihilating Elvendom. But first, he must win the greatest battle of all: the battle raging in his own mind.

Really in depth

What I mean by in depth is that there is a lot of soul searching for the character. There are those that help to guide those that have passed on into finding themselves again so they can make the choice on whether or not to live free as an elf or be in part of the order of Shiran. I was a little lost during the book because sometimes I can get confusing with the different scenarios happening, but they’re at least a few main characters that kind of help tie things together and of course the ending was just the best. I love the ending. Narrator did an amazing job I think. He really brought this to life. I don’t think I would’ve been able to physically read the book so I’m glad I had the audio.

Great Story, Wrong Narrator

Another great story in this series. Unfortunately I had to relisten to multiple sections as the narrator would cause me to zone out or just lose focus. Add to it, it was confusing at times as he pronounced many names and places quite a bit differently. Again this caused me to relisten once I realized who he was talking about

Acceptable and Embracing Change

I loved every word! I could not "put this down"! It also taught me to overcome my fears and embrace whatever life brings my way!

I was disappointed

I did not like the narrator I could hardly stay awake, listening to him, and I would like to have known what happened to Eleanor’s wife and children and friends not her best book and I am one of her biggest fans

The narrator clearly didn't do any research from the first series

I feel like I'm listening to an off-brand version of the Sylvan series. I am incredibly annoyed with how this new narrator pronounces character names and locations as well as his accents for characters that were also in the books of the first series. It's off-putting. I miss the original narrator and if nothing else this new narrator should've done a little homework and listened to how characters names, places and character accents were pronounced and read by the original reader. I don't want to discourage anyone from reading or listening to either series because the books are great but I can't get over these particular details that in my opinion are incredibly important for an audiobook. I'll probably end up reading this series instead but I might see how the narrator does in the second book too see if he fixes his pronunciations

A new favorite book!

This new series by R.K. Lander has been long awaited. I enjoyed reading about many beloved characters from the Silvan series and the introduction to some new characters I, fell in love with. Learning about the Shiran and the different clans that belong in it, the continuing conflict they fight along with many other warriors against an evil entity sworn to give mortals what they seek immortality. And the one who they believe can help them win in the end.

Narrator

It was almost as good as her previous books except for one thing. The narrator. Daniel Thomas May is the best narrator I have ever heard. His narration made her previous books come alive with the characters. They were so real with perfect accents. I started reading her books on his recommendation. So I was disappointed to see he wasn’t narrator of this series.

mc identification difficult

i was very confused through first chapter. I thought it had no relation to the Silvan series. I couldnt identify the MC.
Narrator destroyed any chance of enjoying the book. I couldnt deal with the droning narration. i stopped listening and read the book instead.
The Silvan series is my favorite all time reading. Have listened to it so much i can recite parts of each book.

Doesn’t Follow the Previous Series Well

Having just finished the previous series I was hopeful when I saw a new one starting. This, was disappointing to view. The story is very clunky, there’s a significant time gap between the last book series and this one. The protagonist’s name gets changed from Felinar to Feldar like that was something substantial, but in reality the character became overly moody. Not a good read, felt very hastily put together and lost the allure of the previous series.
