Once upon a time (just a few years ago), psychologists believed that the way we chose to communicate was largely a function of personality. If certain conversational styles were more common to one sex than the other (more abstract and aggressive talk for men, for instance, more personal and equivocal talk for women), then this was just another tribute to the influence of biology on personality.

In Joel's Schwartzberg's 10-plus years as a strategic communications trainer, the biggest obstacle he's come across - one that connects directly to nervousness, stammering, rambling, and epic fail - is that most speakers and writers don't have a point. They typically have just a title, a theme, a topic, an idea, an assertion, a catchphrase, or even something much less. This book shows you how to identify your point, leverage it, stick to it, and sell it and how to train others to identify and successfully make their own points.

The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

Book 1: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, better known and loved today as simply The Wizard of Oz, is a tale that has been cherished by readers and listeners throughout the years. This timeless story has inspired Broadway shows, cartoon series, and many films over the past few generations. I hope that this book has inspired your sense of creativity and wonder as much as it has mine.

Empowering the disadvantaged
Gloria speaking in the 90's. if you have never listened to Gloria Steinem before or read any of her work this would be a great introduction. She's funny too, you'll get some laughs for sure. You may have only heard about Gloria from her detractors and thus she had been villainized. Perhaps you agree with that characterization, if so I would ask why? What have you taken in from her that you can evaluate not just what you heard but what you actually read or heard from her hand or mouth? If nothing, then here is a nice short introduction.

Amazing insight on equality.
Absolutely loved it. I'm binge reading all of Gloria's work. It's so good. I learned a lot about the witch burnings that I had no idea about.

Awesome!
Listening to these speeches in Steinem's own voice gave me hope and inspiration for the rights of women and minorities for now and in the future. I highly recommend this.

Sad to hear, given her later anti-woman stance
It's sad to hear how amazingly radical Gloria Steinem used to be, knowing that she later became a slut-shaming, victim-blaming hypocrite.
