Publisher's summary

The arguments are concise, and the information is overwhelming. The first two lectures examine the persistent and largely invariant features of foreign policy, the overall framework of order. The third discusses Central America and its foreign policy pattern. The fourth looks at national security and the arms race. And the fifth examines US domestic policy.

Eye opening

I had a feeling that our government (U.S.) has done some shady things; this book really opens up a whole new perspective on the regimes we've supported and policies we've consistently carried out. Sorry to the world for "intervening" when we shouldn't. Chomsky may be swinging the pendulum to the other side, but some of the historical accounts he refers to are undeniable.
