About this listen
I'm trapped in a deadly game with a ruthless drug lord, and my partner Annalise won’t stay on the sidelines.
Annalise is fierce, intuitive, and a brilliant detective.
She has a fire that rivals her beauty,
with eyes that see through the toughest cases and a heart that cares deeply.
We clash like flint and steel, igniting sparks that are impossible to ignore.
As we delve deeper into Hatchet Luis' underground empire,
I can't help but be drawn to the way she stands tall in the face of danger.
Our brief touches and stolen glances ignite a passion I can’t resist.
I find myself captivated, not just by Annalise's courage,
but by the passion she hides beneath her tough exterior.
I yearn to protect her, to feel the warmth of her against me as we face the darkness together.
Just when it seems we might be turning the tide, Annalise is taken by Luis' men.
I'll stop at nothing to bring her back safely.
With every ticking second, I fear, will I reach her before it's too late?

Loved the Story Line
I enjoyed this story. It’s action packed and full of mystery and suspense. The characters are well written. However, I'm going to have to read the book myself because the audio was awful. It sounded like the narrator was using a cassette tape recorder from the 1980s (yes, I know what those sound like because I still have one). There was also an overlapping of audio in one of the chapters. I feel like the narrator needs to read the book to familiarize themself with the words and story. All in all, I loved the story but did not like the narration.
As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.

Entertaining plot
This book had just enough material in it to make it fairly believable.
The only problem I found was at times it had a echo which took away from
the tell of the story other wise it was enjoyable.
That is my opinion but still worth while.

Conflicted
I think this is probably the hardest review I had to write in a long time. Narrator Clarence Carter Boucher did a good job. The book itself was decent. I personally am pretty sensitive to sounds/noises so it sounded like to me this was distant a little like it was far away or talking in a can. At about Chapter 10 there are two recordings on top of each other and it's probably and pivotal plot point that you are left wondering what you missed. After this I really enjoyed the fact that each chapter was announced who's point of view it is. I really wish the audio wasn't so problematic because I could give the book/narrator a fairer rating.
