About this listen

Elaine is ripped from this world to Pallos, a land of unlimited possibilities made real by a grand system governing classes, skills, and magic.

An ideal society? What is this, a fantasy novel?

Adventures? Right this way!

A grand quest? Nah.

Friends and loot? Heck yes!

Humans are the top dog? Nope; dinosaur food.

Healing and fighting? Well, everything is trying to eat her.

Join Elaine as she travels around Pallos, discovering all the wonders and mysteries of the world, trying to find a place where she belongs, hunting those elusive mangos, all while the ominous Dragoneye Moons watch her every move....

really enjoyed this one.

to keep this short, it was a fun story with a decent level of realism that allow my suspension of disbelief to easily take and made me want to hear more. The timeline kills me in alot of stories, to much happening to fast or outside even mild rational pacing, but not here. the timeline feels organic and considered.

the narrator did an excellent job balancing the behaviors and gave enough inflection that the MCs differnt stages felt real.

loved it.

so first off. the system notification got to give the narrator props for that. amazing job. also they get annoying at times but i understand the need for them narrator makes it good.

spoiler* the "lesbian comment" well theres only 1 mention and thats in book 3 i beleive. not much happened.

I have not finished this series of books currently moving to book 4. i have however enjoyed her growth from infant to 18 now.

there was a comment that said she acts like a kid even though she remembers things. the auther wrote in when MC says, Even though i have this knowledge starting from infancy i was not able to do much and when you're treated like a kid you tend to act like one.

I just want to say thanks to the author for an amazing series and the Narrator for a wonderful performance!

Why aren't more people talking about this series?

This is probably the best female Isekai MC I have ever read. She is progressive without being obnoxious and kind without being a doormat. Much of the early book doesn't even really include her Isekai heritage but she uses it well all the same. I will definitely be continuing though the end felt incomplete like a few other LitRPGs I've read. It feels like it simply slowed down and ended rather than reaching a peak and resolve. I guess this is becoming more industry standard for the genre.

Edit: Correction I tried to read to other books and my mind kept wondering back. So I am continuing it right away.

This a great story. The mc start at young age to learn her skills like in fallout 3 game. This very interested story. I hope book 2 and 3 soon.

Paving the Path

This is the start of what could be a phenomenal series. Battling against prejudice and forging bonds through strife, it has all the trappings of a compelling tale.

Shocked

It was surprising that I enjoyed this book so much since it is not my usual book I read, but it has everything in it. Action, Strategy, Freedom, And more within its "pages." I would definitely recommend this title to anyone that is looking for a new escape and world to jump on. I have to say, "It has been a while since I was listening to a book and forgot it was a book and not a great story that never ends!" I am in LOVE!!!!

Great rebirth Isekai LitRPG

This book really takes a unique approach when it comes to coming back with your memories intact as a baby, and I think it worked really well and addressed a number of issues with that trope! I especially liked how immature the MC is at a young age because maturity is related to brain development as well as memories. I felt the particular way the author went about the setting/premise made for a fantastic start, and I can't wait to listen to the 3rd book when it comes out (immediately listened to the second book after the first, and listened to both pretty much straight through).

Good RPG Book, but tons of Chimes

I actually enjoyed this book quite a bit, I haven't tried the RPG book genre before but they made it interesting. I liked the setting, with a fantasy Romanesque theme but with a few twists and dinosaurs. The main character is likeable and it is nice to see her grow and encounter things that challenge her viewpoints or motives while she strives to be good. The beginning is a little slow but I understand why it's slow, it's introducing you to the system the world operates on and sets up a strong motivation for Elaine. The narrator is good but my only criticism for the book is that the the narrator says "Ding!" every time there is a system notification which there are a ton of them. Sometimes it can go on for minutes. Which I understand why but it can get annoying. It wouldn't stop me from reading it again, and I'm going to read the next in the series.

Negative Nancy has no complaints this time

Honestly was not expecting this story to turn out as well as it did. Normally I can find something in the story that just doesn't sit right, but even the flaws that I could identify feel right. Minor spoilers below, but no critical plot points.

So to kick things off, the author made a brilliant decision by not allowing the MC to keep all of her knowledge from her previous life. All to often in these types of reincarnation stories it turns into a situation where the old knowledge is so overwhelmingly powerful that the MC just starts to essentially metagame the whole thing and always makes the correct decision. This doesn't happen at all in this story, it genuinely feels like our protagonist is in that world and learning what that means.

Second, when it comes to interpersonal/social issues within the story no one side is villified like in other stories and when it does come up there are tangible events that occur. What I mean is that there aren't just imagined slights, as an analogy, it the MC isn't assuming someone is a vegan because they ordered a salad.

The one thing I think some people might get thrown off by is that the MC, who was 20 when she reincarnated, acts like a child when she is a child in her 2nd life. I don't really have an issue with this because your brain and body chemistry/hormones change as you get older. There are some smart and mature kids out there, but there is a reason why there are laws that require you to be a certain age before doing certain things, like drinking or running for president.
