Duplicate stories

This book is a collection of stories rather than a novel. This is fine except many of the stories were already told in the first two books. The stories that were new were fantastic, I just feel a tad cheated about the duplicates. The stories are not in chronological order, so be prepared to jump around. The narrator is AMAZING.

Good read

I have read these books before but, this was the first time I went the audio route. The narrator was excellent and brought the story and the characters to life.

Includes Oathbound and Short Novella

This is not really book 3 in the series but book 1, Oathbound, and the short novella that is the prequel to Oathbound, which tells the story of how Tarma and Kethry first meet.

Buy this set instead of just Oathbound and get both the book and the short novella together. In addition, there is a nice introduction by the author explaining why she invented these two characters.

Oath blood: vows and honor, book 3

I have loved Mercedes Lackeys work for a long time. She has created a very rich and detailed world for her hero’s to explore.

A cook’s mixture of stories.

Includes book 1 of series and a mix of short stories plus ends with the title novella. It’s interspersed with introductory comments from author.

It is book 3. Plus more.

Don’t listen to the reviews that say there’s no new material in this. Oil. While it does have some repeat sections from books 1 & 2. It is new material. Go to the chapters to view the different sections. It’s a great wrap up of these characters and nice to see how things play out for them. I also appreciated the section about how they met. Well done again!

Great performance for an old favorite.

Christa Lewis is a great choice for this book. I love the way she narrates the stories and brings the characters to live. Her pronounciation of the characters sounds the most natural to me out of all the readers of the Valdermar series so far. I wish more of the books in the series could be performed by her.

NOT full novel! Short stories: some are recycled.

Buyer beware: The "chapters" of this book are all short stories. Several were published as book 1 & 2 of the series nearly word for word. And since the audio files for the books were recorded collectively, you are listening to the same audio performance by the narrator. I read the first two books in print years ago and listened to them recently. I was excited to listen to "Book 3," but I feel that I only got 1/2 a book, which is disappointing.

Feel Cheated!!!!!!!!

I missed all the reviews that said this is duplicate material. Material included in book 1 and 2!!!! These books were on sale and I fondly remembered the first two when I was in high school.... My how times have changed... I bought all 4 in this series based on fond memories... and now I feel cheated... I only paid $5 for this book and I still feel cheated. Some of it is so short as to not be interesting... most of it is duplicated... The problem is that these are random stories and not in chronological order... you get some that are right after book 1... some are before book 1.... some are just... who knows.... The author didn't even bother to put them in chronological order so that it made sense... What a waste of $5…
