Publisher's summary
In this highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestselling Better than the Movies, Wes and Liz struggle to balance their feelings for each other with the growing pains of being a college student.
For a few beautiful months, Wes had his dream girl: strong-willed girl-next-door Liz. But right as the two were about to set off to UCLA to start their freshman year together, tragedy struck. Wes was left dealing with the fallout, which ultimately meant losing Liz in the process.
Flash forward months and months later and Wes and Liz find themselves in college, together. In a healthier place now, Wes knows he broke Liz’s heart when he ended things, but he is determined to make her fall back in love with him.
Wes knows Liz better than anyone, and he has a foolproof plan to win her back with the rom-com worthy big gestures she loves. Only…Liz will have none of it. Wes has to scheme like a rom-com hero to figure out how to see her. Even worse, Liz has a new friend…a guy friend.
Still, Wes won’t give up, adapting his clever plans and going hard to get Liz’s attention and win back her affection. But after his best efforts get him nowhere, Wes is left wondering if their relationship is really over for good.

Story
Perpetual daydreamer Liz Buxbaum gave her heart to Michael a long time ago. But her cool, aloof forever crush never really saw her before he moved away. Now that he’s back in town, Liz will do whatever it takes to get on his radar - and maybe snag him as a prom date - even befriend Wes Bennet. The annoyingly attractive next-door neighbor might seem like a prime candidate for romantic-comedy fantasies, but Wes has only been a pain in Liz’s butt since they were kids. Yet, somehow, Wes and Michael are hitting it off, which means Wes is Liz’s in.

Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

Liz and Wes
I was so excited when I saw there would be a sequel to Better Than the Movies but also had a healthy dose of skepticism because sequels have to be done REALLY well. Lynn Painter hit it out of the park with this one! It is truly unputdownable. I loved every heartbreaking minute of this story. Wes and Liz are endgame!

should have been a duet narration
Jesse Valinsky killed it as always. she really performed this role. the male narrator would have been so much better if he was playing off of her instead of himself. however, Zachary Webber would have performed at the same level as Jesse Valinsky.
the story was cute. I was getting really frustrated with Liz but I think that was the point. this story had a lot more emotion and reality and felt more grown up than the first book, which makes sense. if there is a 3rd book, I hope it's after they've graduated, not broken up, and just figuring out life. I wasn't sure if i wanted to listen to this because of how happy the first book ended, but I'm glad I listened.

I will never stop loving Wes and Liz!!! They make my heart happy. Wes is the most smitten guy ever, and Liz is helpless to resist him. I don’t always love second chance romances, but this one made me kick my feet in happiness because they are soulmates. I wish I hadn’t read it so fast because now it’s over, but I guess that just means I can read it again sooner.
Lynn Painter puts something in her YA books that never fails to give me the warm fuzzies. Also, the 2.0 playlist is perfection.
Jesse Vilinsky and Charlie Bushnell killed the audiobook narration. The pining emotions came through perfectly.

Love Wes & Liz ; Narrators are fantastic ; wish the book focused more on their relationship when together
Love both characters - loved them in the first book and loved Wed even more in the second book.
I feel like the book dragged on a little too long to the final moment us all readers desperately wanted. Liz’s indifference got to the point where I found myself saying “stop thinking so much and just freaking get together with him”
I feel like in both books we didn’t get enough insight into their relationship while in love and happy and that fantastic connection they have. That is something I wish would have been in the book - less of the build up exchanged for a few chapters of them in love and their banter.

WOWZA.
I honestly don't even have words for how much of a wonderful ending to this series. SWOON. Wes is so swoony. it was so angsty too. so perfect. my heart literally would break for Wes in one chapter and then Liz in the next chapter. this will definitely be a reread. I'm so sad it's over.

Love this.. when are the movies coming out?
Charming sequel to the first, I seriously need some studio to pick this series up and make them into movies. The soundtracks and quotes alone are total clickbait for those who love the romantic comedy genre. This could be right up there with “You’ve got mail,” “While you were sleeping,” and so so many others:)
