About this listen
The past is waiting.
Josie Jackson is whisked further into the past, to the era of Vikings and the (almost) eternal winters of Norway. Carter, the mastermind behind her foray through time, reveals that she'll be remaining there for six years - assuming she survives the first winter. To complicate matters, Josie has an unexpected health condition, one that threatens her life more than the frigid cold, Viking raids, and wild animals.
After un-creating Taylor and leaving Batu in the Mongol era, Josie wants nothing to do with any other man, especially not the Viking warrior she's engaged to shortly after dropped into a fjord in front of his village. Not everyone is as he seems in this era, from her reluctant new husband, to the mystic - scorned by the rest of the village - whose futuristic visions are too accurate to be divine, to Carter, the evil genius who's tormented her through three eras of history.
When she finally learns the truth behind why he chose her, she understands too well what the stakes of this game really are.

It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Story
Early one morning on the shore of the Thames, DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene of a gruesome discovery. When Owusu sends the evidence for examination, he learns the bones are connected to a cold case that left three people dead on the kitchen floor in a Chelsea mansion thirty years ago. Rachel Rimmer has also received a shock—her husband, Michael, has been found dead in the cellar of his house in France. Wow Wow wow
Never has Josie been tested so much and come out on top. I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, but Lizzy Ford is so amazing with this series. This book has more suspense and thrills than the last two. Josie is a total and complete bad ass! I can’t want for South and to see how this ends. The end of this book had be breathless and I was so in shock I had to listen again.
Lillian Yves takes all the challenges like a champ and continues to expand her range of characters. I love how she brings emotion to the story and you actually feel why Josie is. This is a must listen too!

Fantastic
This series continues to surprise me. I'm reminded again and again why I live this author so much.
With each journey Josie takes she learns more and more about herself and the world's she's dropped into. It's been amazing watching her learn and grow, to accept and change. Each new era with whole new sets of dangers that she must overcome.
Being that it IS a connected series, this one will leave you on one hellofa spine tingling cliffhanger!
As always, this narrator is PERFECT for this series and brings the book to life in vivid detail.

Another great story
North, Book 3 ,was amazing!!
At first when I read that this was about the Viking era, I didn't think I'd be very interested, but was I wrong. The way Lizzy Ford weaves her stories is so good.
Josie is sent back to the Viking era by Carter, the guy she met in current times, who had asked her a hypothetical question (or at least Josie thought it was hypothetical).. if she could go back in time and change things, would she... Who wouldn't??!! However, she didn't think he was serious..
When Josie leaves the Mongolian era and the love of her life and soul mate, she lands in the Viking era.. and as Carter, true to fashion, doesn't tell her why.
Josie meets a mystic who tells her that the Gods told him that she was coming and he had to look after her..
Josie has many surprises along the way, but finds herself and what she can do and what she is capable of.
This was a great story and when I realized I had an hour left to listen to, I started to get very sad.
Great story and great performance by Lillian Yves..

I absolutely love this series! I just cant get enough, and it's a story you don't want to stop. Josie is thrown back into Viking times in this one and forced yet again to marry. And the surprises just keep coming especially the one at the end. But the thought that went into life in that time really awakens you to the hardships of the time era. I also love how Josie really embraces this era and is prepared to never leave is she can help it. Lillian does a fantastic job with the narration and bring the story to life.

I have read and listened to all of the other books in this series and have loved them all. I know I read this book before I listened to it but the narrator really brought the story to life. I felt like was right there with them watching them go about their lives. The twists and turns of the story really keep you on your toes wondering what is going to come next and with the narrator there's even more suspense. You're on the edge of your seat saying what's next. I can't wait to see what happens next.

3.5 I didn't like this one as much as the first two, but it still was pretty good. There wasn't quite enough action for my taste. That being said, I am still looking forward to the next book and this is a great series.

What a story! What an amazingly unexpected climax!
Lizzy Ford, you astound me!
Lillian Yves, your voice-acting in the audio version is amazing!
I loved this story from beginning to end and cannot imagine what the fourth one will be about. Each of the first three stories has held me enthralled and kept me there - as if I were in the tale experiencing it for myself.
If you have taken the time to read my review/s, then do yourself a favor and read or listen to these stories. Believe me, it is worth the effort!
