The series thus far in review part 1

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yup! Especially if they're a fan of the urban fantasy genre and are too busy to settle down with a book

Who was your favorite character and why?

Abigail Collins McSassy Pants

What does Kerri McCann bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kerri is very careful to enunciate very specifically - it was the first thing I noticed about her performances

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I feel like saying so would give spoilers... There's a kidnapping that comes out of left field when you're least expecting it.

Any additional comments?

Yeah, I'm going to need the whole series in audio book format

Couldn't finish it

I gave up in chapter 6. The characters were shallow and one dimensional. The relationships between Abby and Simon and Abby and Levi seemed forced and taken for granted. We are told that Levi raised Abby after the death of her parents, but, there relationship is standoffish and cold. We are told Simon likes Abby but there is no evidence of this except that he asks her out a few times. There's no flirting or anything else that shows a connection between them. Simon, an almost alpha, doesn't even care that a werewolf has been killed in his territory. Werewolves always care if someone is in their territory, dead or alive. We are told several times that Abby is the best investigator, but, never really see her do anything but asks questions. This story needs more character and plot development.

Terrible!

Holy moley is this a first ever book? It was so long winded with every singe thing the MC did was narrated. “I walked to the sidewalk”. I opened the mailbox. There was a lot of mail. I wet through t. Bills. Electricity. Phone. I sighed. I put the mail in the backpack that is on my shoulder. I put it back to my back.I walked to the coffee shop on the corner. I saw Devon. I waved to Devon. I opened the door. I walked to the cashier. I asked can I have a large coffee. The barista said of course! That will be 4.99. I put my bag on my shoulder. I unzipped the front pocket.” And it goes on and on and on. She literally made a call to her insurance company and the author wrote out the whole conversation WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. Another irritating thing is this author doesn’t use isn’t or wasn’t or you’re. It’s always is not was not you are. With a hard stop if each sentence instead of combining sentences to shorten it. IT WAS SO IRRITATING. And I swear it got worse as the book progressed. I was one hour left and I couldn’t take it because it got so bad.
