Hit and Miss

The fiction is great, and the stories read by actors really sing.

BUT, two gripes: the last entry is a long non-fiction piece about baseball, and the voice acting is a very mixed bag.

Excellent !!

Wonderfully narrated by all. I've always loved Tim Curry and Whoopi, and have now fallen in love with Yeardley Smith. Her reading of RAINY SEASON was talented and interesting.. a real performance. And, as always, King rules all. <3

Head Down

Head Down was wonderful! I was going to skip it because it was an essay and I’m not much of a baseball fan. But the words and story of these young boys was so well done! Don’t skip it! When people talk today about young men being left behind they should listen and learn from this.

Excellent Story Writing, so far..

have only listened to two stories so far will update this review as we listen to the rest…

- Dolans Cadillac
Excellent story! Perfect narrator! Fabulous modern take on one of your favorite old stories from one of your very favorite old authors. No spoiler here listen and you’ll discover it yourself.

- House on Maple Street
Great story! Questionable narrator. It sounds like she has a slight speech impediment, which is an odd choice for an audiobook narrator, but in any event her overpowering accent is just past the line of annoying. Also odd background noises, which obviously were intended to be dramatic, but really were mostly just distracting.

Great collection! Can't wait to start volume 2!

Great Stories! Different then most of his other short story books, but if you know Stephen King, you then know that he's not just the Master of Horror. He's also the Master of having no need for a comfort zone or M.O. To rely on. He writes incredibly, exploring different genres and states of mind. The short stories in this collection are no different.

The readers are all fantastic! Whoopi Goldberg was a delightful surprise in that I never expected her to be such an amazing story teller. Everyone else was amazing as well.

Now... On to Volume 2!
