About this listen

Dear Listener,

I began writing the Night Trilogy in 1987. I’m very proud of all three novels. Perhaps Night Fire is my favorite, simply because it’s so different from the other two.

In Night Fire, Arielle Leslie is a 16-year-old forced to wed Paisley Cochrane, a sadistic old man who abuses her. When he dies, she believes herself free. But she’s not.

Burke Drummond, Earl of Ravensworth, a young man she’d worshipped three years before, is home from the wars, and he wants her.

Burke and Arielle are two people who have touched me deeply. Together they faced problems and obstacles never spoken of in the Regency time.

Do give Night Fire a try. See if you don’t agree with me that Arielle and Burke are two very special people.

Very good!

I enjoyed this very much. The only negative I have was there was too much attention paid on the abuse to the heroine. It was too repetative. I would have liked to see a more intelligent way of healing the heroine.

Fabulous!!!!!!!

Where does Night Fire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the top 20, because I have listened to a lot of them that I just absolutely cannot say a horrible word about.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Fire?

When Arielle walked in on her step sister and husband making love and after leaving the room Burke just laughing at her! I also loved, loved when Burke beat the crap out of Evan and Arielle got to punch him. She should have kicked his bollocks in!

What about Anne Flosnik’s performance did you like?

Every last bit!!!!!!!!!!! Anne is one of my favorite narrators so whatever book she is narrating to, I am a listener. Way to go Anne, you brought the characters to life for me and just kept me so engrossed.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire story did. I found myself crying and then at time chuckling or laughing out loud. I felt for Arielle with everything she went through and what she overcame. I loved Burke for everything and all that he was for Arielle. I can't wait to read more on Knight, found myself liking him a lot also.

Any additional comments?

Read this book for the laughing moments but also for the crying.

Vintage Catherine Coulter

This is the first in a series, but all the books are stand-a-lone. This is not the best in the series but a good listen. The narrator is excellent. But for my recommendation read the other two first, you won't be sorry.

I love Anne Flosnik

What did you love best about Night Fire?

I love romance novels written in the late 80's and early 90's they seem to keep it more real than a lot of others. Anne Flosnik is one of the best when it comes to historical romance, this one was also funny. I'm going to purchase the rest of the series.

No real plot

Mostly this book dealt with the overly rampant hormones of the male characters. The villain was bent on rape, the hero trying to over come the maiden's reluctance.

I love Catherine Coulter books but this book wasn't worth my time. I only hope the next in the series is up to Coulter's normal standards.
