About this listen

Young and naïve—those are his exact words.

Professor Barclay views me as a nuisance, a disruption of his otherwise obedient class and perfectly regimented life. His bad impression of me stems from a simple misunderstanding, and when that impression sours from bad to worse, he decides to make an example out of me in front of the entire class. Every other female student in that auditorium looks on, longing to trade places with me, wishing they were the object of his attention. It’s humiliating. I want nothing to do with him or the tension growing between us, but he feels inescapable.

Deep down, I know I have a crush on him. It’s a shameful feeling I refuse to give life to.

Not that it matters—nothing can come from it. Besides our mutual dislike for one another and the fact that he’s my professor, there’s an age gap that should be warning enough.

While we might cross the line once—the dark glance across a dimly lit bar...the metallic sound of the bathroom door locking behind us...his hand slowly sliding up my skirt—I know it’s a boundary I can’t break again.

Now, more than ever, he’s off-limits.

After four years apart, I’m a brand-new hire at his firm. I’ve convinced myself he won’t remember me. I’m safe here in the wolf’s den.

It’s funny, isn’t it? How easily we can delude ourselves if only we want something bad enough.

Nothing has changed.

That same friction roils between us. My gaze still flees from the chill of his glacier blue eyes. I try to stay out of his way, to keep my distance, but like always we feel inevitable. Fate seems to think I belong in the arms of my old professor, and raging against fate...well, that’s a battle we’re all bound to lose.

SWEETEST READ EVER!

RS Grey is one of my favorite authors, but this book is just perfection! It's the perfect amount of sweetness, comedy, intrigue, love, and passion. How it can have anything below a 5 star is baffling.

Amelia and Jonathan start out rocky, but the way fate works in this book is magical. It's definitely a must-read.

Great!

I was put off by negative reviews for a while, but I shouldn’t have listened to them. This book is just as good as any you’d find in the genre. The characters are perfectly likable and the narration is good. It was worth the sale price I paid. Also, this lacks the humor of some of RS Grey’s other books, so if you’re looking for that, this isn’t it.

My professor

I did not care for the way the characters treated each other. I thought the story dragged on and I became bored with and fast forward quite a lot of story.

Cute Quick Read

Another great R.S. Grey book. It’s got humor, heart, and just enough spice. Definitely can’t wait to listen to her next one . :)

Miscast

The story was just okay. I love R.S. Grey but I was having a hard time liking the story. I also think the voice actors chosen were the wrong ones. I could not get into the inflection that Ms. Gossage used while reading her part. It was hard to finish listening to the book.

The narrator's ruined this book

I LOVE R.S. Grey as an author! As soon as one of her books are released I read them in one session. The same goes for the audiobook version. The reader of Amelia seemed to be trying too hard to sound like a 'rich girl' she would drag out certain words and it drove me crazy. The reader for Jonathan was just as bad.

Don't judge all of R.S. Grey's audiobooks by this narration. I love King of the Court, Cold Hearted Boss, and the sequel to this book Forbidden French

Good…. But….

This is one of many R.S. Grey books that I have read or listened to. The story was good but I won’t put it in the list of favorites. It seemed to me like the story dragged on and I didn’t always like the way the antagonists treated each other.

decent listen

it's not a bad story it just needs a little more sexy time. The narrators weren't bad but the female narrator needed a little more emotion in her tone and her male voice was computer-like.

Female narrator…just no

Not a lot of sexy time in this book. It’s the kind of book that comes together in the last half hour. Female narrator up talks and draws out her words and sentences; it’s distracting . It’s like every statement is a question.
