About this listen

Lillian Phillips could not imagine how her quiet, simple life had come to this. Blackmailed by the Mad Duke of Thornwood into accepting one wild dare after another...all because of a pocket watch. Desperate to recover her beloved father's pawned timepiece, Lily did something reckless and dangerous and delicious - something that led to a night she'd never forget.

When Devon Grey, Duke of Thornwood, runs into a mesmerizing, intoxicating, thieving woman who literally stole from his bedchamber - with his new pocket watch - Devon plots his revenge. If the daring wench likes to play games, he's happy to oblige. After all, what's the ruse of being the Mad Duke if you can't have some fun? But the last laugh might just be on him....

Critique

The story was sweet and could draw you in but the narrator's voice kills you. I give Ms. Larkin kudos for her effort but her voice just got on my nerves after a while.

Very fun book. I wish it would have been cleaner.

The story was fun and lighthearted but I feel it would have been even better without the graphic sex LOL

Surprisingly delightful

I was unfamiliar with this author when I selected the book. I am pleased to report that I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Much is owed to the narration, which added a distinct personality to the characters.

UNEXPECTED BUT DELIGHTFUL

I read the book first and I found it very intriguing, listening to it gives it a different perspective especially when the narrator puts voices to the characters.
Was a great story, totally not what I was expecting which is what I like about books and makes it even better in the audio version when the story is narrated well (like it was done here).

I hope the other book in the series is in done in audio as well.

This was fun

This was a most enjoyable book. Light-hearted and cute. I liked both main characters a lot.

The narration was a little too girly for my liking but, overall, this was quite good.

This was my first book by this author and I look forward to more in this series.

Story was a bit silly

Story begins with the heroine stealing the duke’s pocket watch that belonged to her father and losing her virginity in the process. She leaves his house before he gets up and so the duke has no idea of her identity until he runs into her at a ball. Immediately recognizing her as the thief who stole his watch and left his bed without a trace and irritated for all the time wasted to track her down without luck, he decides to have blackmail her by asking her to do his misdeeds. The heroin is forced to follow the duke’s commands or he threatens to tell all she stole his pocket watch.
Cute story but a bit silly how she feels obliged to do as he says. I have to admit I LOVED the twist added about the heroine’s good brother’s love life. Very unexpected

Sweet and lusty

Better than I thought it would be. It has some funny moments and some moments where your heart went out to Lilly. It’s a 3.5 for me
