About this listen

Jessica Fletcher would like nothing more than to sit back and relax as Thanksgiving comes to Cabot Cove. But this year, she's already got more on her plate than she can handle.

Jessica is suffering from a rare case of writer's block, and the deadline for her new novel is fast approaching. Also, her friend, Scotland Yard Inspector George Sutherland, is coming from London to experience the American holiday. But most distressing of all, Jessica is hosting a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner for a guest list that is growing by the day.

Jessica carries on toward her culinary conquest, and she couldn't be more thankful about the results. Until she and George take a post-turkey stroll and stumble upon the body of a man with a carving knife stuck in his chest....

Story is good, narrator is terrible.

The story is good. The narrator is terrible! Why does every character have a New England accent EXCEPT Jessica?! It seems the narrator has absolutely no idea who Jessica Fletcher is!

Could Have Been Better

Didn't care for the story line as much as the others. Took a little longer to get through it. So, So

love this series!

Jessica Fletcher is my favorite character! Every book is intriguing and comforting and provides a new twist! This story was no different, but it DOES explain why she started calling Mort, Mortimer. (I saw someone else's comment on another book about her referencing him that way and this explains it all.)

Delightful Murder She Wrote Tale

What did you like best about this story?

The mystery plot and the Thanksgiving timeline make for an interesting listen. Sandra Burr goes an exceptional job narrating.

Enjoyed it

Would you listen to Murder, She Wrote: A Fatal Feast again? Why?

Don't listen twice but might consider it in the future.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not on the edge of my seat but the story did propel me forward.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Sandra Burr?

Yes

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This one worked for me so wouldn't change it.

Any additional comments?

Audible, please give us more MSW books. I have every one and looking for more. Possibly the older editions in audible format.

One oops

I've been listening to quite a few of these books in a row. In a recent book Jessica called Sheriff Metzger Mortimer throughout the book. As this became a kind of 'code' in this one it is disappointing. Different real authors writing these? Or at least a copy editor who doesn't know the series.

Another great story!

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder, She Wrote: A Fatal Feast to be better than the print version?

The audio version brings so much life to the book.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how Sandra Burr sounded like Jessica Fletcher.

What does Sandra Burr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voice of Mrs. Fletcher

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Pretty Good! Enjoyed :-)

The 1st book I reviewed was the 1st I'd read in this series and it had a different narrator, which, I didn't enjoy so that left a lot to be desired. This narrator was MUCH better, which is such a big part of whether or not I enjoy any audible book. BECAUSE the narrator was better at changing voices, she DID NOT use "he said, I said, she said", much at all, which was tedious/aggravating (?) in the only other of this series I read, "The Main Mutiny" and I mentioned in my last review.

I do plan to go on to the next in the series. I sure wish I were able to get the books from book #1 but unfortunately, they're not available at present

I suppose one of the reasons I didn't rate this book 5 stars all the way across is because I enjoy the TV series more but this is a good read and though, not one I couldn't put down, I didn't mind picking it back up either!

A good, easy read, cozy mystery... clean and comfortable.

Oh, one other thing, I and one other person I know, prefer to read those that take place in Jessica's hometown of Cabot Cove. Being these are not more or less continued but rather, stand on their own, you can pick and choose which you'd like to read next.

Hope you enjoy!!
