Although Evermeet seems to be a monument to the strength and solidarity of the elven people, its history is one of conflict. At the heart of its story is Amlaruil, Queen of All Elves. When Evermeet comes under attack, her sacrifice holds the last hope of saving the elven homeland. A classic fantasy centered around the clash between good and evil in a beautiful, magical, and romantic land.

Fantastic Conclusion
This book got some flak in some other reviews because of its predecessor Dangerous Games had a more grandiose setting and plot points.
I'm here to tell you the other reviews are looking at the trilogy incorrectly. The Netheril Trilogy follows a shamanistic human barbarian and his heroic journey to manifest his own potential and save his people. The first book, Sword Play sets the board with the story's pieces, and in Dangerous Games the major events transpire. This book, Mortal Consequences, aptly follows it's name in unfolding the consequences of the middle book. It details how the epic tale of Netheril impacts this lowly human, and how his own virtues take this impact and transmute it into something transcendently positive.
Action scenes were well described, event pacing was kept at a healthy speed, and the narrator did a great job providing enough distinct voices to follow dialogue effortlessly.

the netheril trilogy concludes
a reasonable explanation for Anauroch. but such magic and such times... i hate weak villains. i dislike heroes with nothing to lose. mire denouement was perfectly acceptable. more visions, more time even, as well as more explanation for past events. where are the items and the Magics that feed current day aber toril? where are the named characters that are just being born? it's a whole world and nothing is tied in.
