About this listen
It is August in Edinburgh, the Festival is in full swing. No one wants to contemplate terrorism in the thronging city streets. Special Branch personnel are interested, however, and Rebus finds himself seconded to an elite police unit with the mission of smashing whatever terrorist cell may exist. But the victim turns out to be a gangster's son, and the gangster wants revenge on his own terms.

Complicated
What did you like best about Mortal Causes? What did you like least?
This is the first in this series I have read and I found it very confusing
If you’ve listened to books by Ian Rankin before, how does this one compare?
this is the first
Did James Macoherson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
very heavy scottish accent did not help the confurison. I later listened to an earlier book with a different narrator and quite enjoyed it
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NO

Abridged version does not do justice to the book.
A storyline, characters and plot, has to be built, abridged version leaves out too much
