Publisher's summary

Kilteegan Bridge, Ireland 1974

For each member of the O’Sullivan family there are turbulent times ahead.

Eli’s need to do his best by his patients is a cause for a bitter divide in the community. Emmet seems hell bent on going down a path in life his parents dread but they’re unable to stop him. Jack’s life and liberty are in grave peril as his secret faces exposure, while Emily’s troubles are, it seems only just beginning with the return of someone she would much rather had disappeared forever. And Maria must decide, is blood really thicker than water, and should family always come first, no matter the cost?

In More Harm than Good, the Kilteegan Bridge Series continues, as the modernity of the 1970’s challenges Irish traditional ways, and generations clash, sometimes with deadly consequences.

Another great story

I enjoy all of Jean Grainger’s books. She is very good at making you want to know how her character’s lives turn out.

Complex and complicated characters

A continuation of the lives of the characters of Kilteegan Bridge …
Since I listened to Book 2 in this series, I moved on to Mags Munroe and back to the Tour series so I could not remember where I left these characters. I went back to the beginning of the series and listened to the books in order. Now I am on to When Irish Eyes are Lying. Each book introduces new characters in this very complicated family. I am beyond hooked on their lives and times! As usual, Siobhan Waring delivers an absolute fantastic performance. Jean’s mix of history with fiction sends me on many Google adventures as I read more about the facts in the lives of these characters. Well done!

Loved loved loved this story!

I have two lives - my real life and my book life. Each night when the day is through, I look so forward to entering my book life with Jean Grainger’s stories, and especially because of the narrator, Siobhan Waring! She has an amazing talent to portray female and male voices whether they are toddlers, children, or adult females and males!

Fortunately, I am able to listen to most of Jean’s stories on the CL (Cloud Library of ebooks) or Hoopla. Both apps are supported by my library here in Florida, USA

I feel like Jean’s stories are so interesting because anyone can identify with a human being born into a family. Jean’s families go through the same difficulties, and struggle with the same challenges that all families do. So her stories just endear the reader to her characters. Personally I love the way she paints a picture of the setting with her characters reacting to it. I can tell her plots are thought out and planned with meticulous research behind them. I love that Jean has written most of her books as series. There are characters in the Tour series, the Robinswood stories, Mags Munroe, etc. who the reader wants to know more about, and Jean delivers my exact sentiment and treats the reader to more than just one sequel. I love that! I hope to be reading her stories for a long time, and hopeful that a visit to Ireland can be arranged soon!

I enjoyed the whole series. The narration was wonderful… I enjoyed the Irish accent. An assortment of characters all with unique backgrounds & stories made this a wonderful series.

Very average

This story is very average. It seems a third of it is just a synopsis of the prior books. This might not be bad if it’s been years since you listened to the other books, but I listened in the last few months and found this to be redundant. Story was at times rather far reaching and very obviously set up for the next book.

Stupid anti-catholic, political correctness!

Oh please, do we have to be bombarded with this everywhere?! Seriously, there is NO STORY here. I'm so disappointed that Jean Grainger has such an incredibly superficial and erroneous knowledge of Catholic doctrine. Please talk to someone who understands the deep "why" of Catholic doctrine so you don't join the masses in spreading lies and misinformation. Just look at the world and society with the total rejection of natural law and catholic doctrine! Not pretty. Horrifying! It has led to an extraordinary amount of human suffering and the destruction of the family (=great harm to kids).
