About this listen

Through the cyber-fog of war, the national security advisor had one worry: Would he be able to save the US from defeat?

Blain serves at the pleasure of the president. Brought over from the last administration, there were few people more trusted. He knew the biggest threat was the deepfakes. China’s AI played war like a grand master.

In what seemed like an instant, the cyberattacks crippled networks, and then the world lost faith in everything on the internet. Global financial markets were in turmoil as supply chains ceased to function. The greatest propaganda campaign ever tore apart the fabric of society. Could China’s expansionist goals be contained?

The United States and NATO responded. The US and Royal Marines were called upon to do something they hadn’t done since the days of the Pacific War - wage an island-hopping campaign. Was a new alliance between old foes their only hope?

Includes a special note from the author.

Excellent thriller of WWIII

Envisioning a future war kicked off and run by an AI. Chilling in it’s research and analysis especially around near capability of many systems

Edge of Seat Nerve Wracking

Tho possibilities explored in this book are scary. I have never read a book where America is the vulnerable underdog. The story line is topical of today’s news stories, written in a manner that makes me have to continue to remind myself that I am reading a book. I just finished volume two, time to download volume 3.

Riveting, exciting play by play combat scenes.

Held my attention throughout the entire book. Well written and great voice acting added to the drama unfolding. Must read for war buffs!

The Story Keeps On Getting Better And Better!

When it comes to series it usually is the second book where the series really hits it's stride. However with Monroe Doctrine the story grabbed me from the first chapter of volume I. James and Miranda are fantastic authors who go to great lengths to research their books. There is a sleeping dragon that's about to be woken up and I can't wait to see where the series goes.

Action vs diplomacy

The authors do a fantastic job for the Action lover with a Clancy-like flair for taking you from one pivotal moment to another I’m estimating 80% Action and 20% diplomacy. Can’t wait to read volume three.

Great story

I enjoyed the book lots of action keeps you guessing thru the whole book , the only problem I had was trying to figure out who was who during the war trying to keep up was tuff. the narrator was good his voice sounded the same with some characters I belive thats why it was so hard to no who was who .

Military Fiction Done Right

Wow! This was a very good listen. Tons of action. Bullets whizzing, sonars pinging, AAMs locking on target, cyber shenanigans all over the place and an evil Chinese AI creating mayhem…….. What else can you ask for? I eagerly await the 3rd installment in this series. Mr. Vietor narrated like the pro he is. I highly recommend this audiobook. Drop the dime, it’s worth your time.
