Publisher's summary

Spending the summer together on Fire Island brought Collin and Tanner closer than ever, but back in their conservative college town, challenges confront them at every turn.

As they search for their new normal in their old environment, Collin's brother Sean surprises them with help when they need it most. But when word about their relationship gets out, trouble erupts with friends and family. When Collin's relationship with Tanner becomes an issue in his brother's custody battle and Tanner struggles with his feelings for a heartbroken Wendy, Collin wonders if everyone he cares about would be better off without him in the picture.

In order to save them both, Tanner must make it clear to Collin that their love for each other is all that matters.

A Moment of Clarity

What did you love best about Moment of Clarity?

Book & Author: Audiobook - A Moment of Clarity By Karen Stivali
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Narrator: Robert Neiman

Out of the series this one was the hardest to read. Watching the homophobia these two men had to endure at from their peers was terrible. But what made it worse was the lack of trust that Collin had in the people around him and in the relationship he had with Tanner. Insecurity in yourself can have terrible consequences and ripple out in your life and for Collin every hit they took was one against him, not one that they needed to handle together.

Once again Robert Neiman added to the extreme emotions that went through Collin during this story and handle each thought and spoken word with what it exactly needed at that moment. There are just some narrators whose style or voice are built for certain stories or characters and I couldn’t imagine listening to this series without the intimacy and emotion that Robert gave these guys.

Also this continues to be one of my favorite series out there, one that I’ve have read over and over again. And now one that I can listen to over and over and be even more impressed with her characters and stories then I ever was before.

This series is all about the drama...

Well… this series is all about the drama and book three takes the cake for number of pages vs angst ratio.

This story takes place right after book two leaves off and we are immediately plunged into a torrent of angst. Sean’s angry wife. Sean’s depression. Angry friend Tim who wants to out them. Wendy and Tanner almost hook up again. Collin actually LEAVES Tanner. Tanner’s mom – of all things – helps to make things right in the boys’ world and finally –FINALLY - a HEA.

I think that fans of the series know what they’re getting into and will want to see how things finally end up as this is absolutely a series that must be read in order. I – for one – really loved the chemistry between these guys and liked them as a settled couple. The angst/drama got a bit tiring and I wish the most basic hurdle – coming out and being an “out” couple - had gotten more focus rather than the outside family stuff, which muddied the water, IMHO.

Karen Stivali is a great writer and the chemistry and final HEA are absolutely worth it!

Robert Nieman is really, really the right narrator for this series. I think his voice matches the age group and angst. I love how – silky?- his voice is. Man. The sensual times in his voice are OTT delicious! I think listening to this is the absolute best way to enjoy this story and I highly recommend it.
