About this listen

Layla Dupree has given up on love.

She’s waded through all of the fish in the sea, each one more disappointing than the last. Apparently owning the bakery at Inglewild’s most romantic destination does not help one’s love life—despite her best efforts. All she wants is a partner who gives her butterflies, not someone who ghosts her at dinner and leaves her with the check.

Good thing Caleb Alvarez has the perfect solution.

After saving Layla from another date gone bad, he has a simple proposition: one month of no-strings dating. He’ll do his best to renew her faith in men, while she rates his dating game. It’s a win-win situation. All the benefits of dating, without the added pressure of feelings and unmet expectations.

But there’s one ingredient they haven’t considered: the chemistry between them is red hot, and the urge to take things to the next level is more tempting than Layla’s double fudge mocha brownies.

Will the heat between them boil over? Or will it be another case of mixed signals?

Least favorite of the series

Of the three, this is my least favorite. The story is contrived and loaded with self doubt. Self doubt that gets obnoxiously interruptive to the flow. Narration is similar to the other 2 books. Wanted to love it, but it’s just ok.

Poor choice in character accents

WHY DID THE ONE NON-HISPANIC HAVE MORE OF AN ACCENT THAN THE ACTUAL HISPANICS?!?!

The narrator had Charlie (who was in the previous books) sound like Antonio Banderas. Meanwhile Caleb, Alex and the rest of the Alverez family sound very Americanized.

Sweet as a butter croissant

This was the sweetest of the entire series and I think it is because the MC seemed to be much younger than the other two books, but still steamy. The small town setting in all the books was so fun and funny. Very likable characters. This could be a stand alone but I think more enjoyable after reading the other two stories. I really enjoyed this authors writing and the narration was great. I recommend this feel good series.

Fav of series!

Fake dating turns true love! The narration was much better in this one too. Not sure why others were annoyed by the doubt - the FMC had good reason to feel the way she did. Can’t wait for the next book!!!

Story was fun and playful

Thought the swearing was unnecessary. Details sometimes over bearing, to fill up space. Story was playful and engaging.

BK BORISON DOES IT AGAIN

I thought I couldn't love anyone more than Stella and Luka, but PHEW. I adored Beckett and Evie, and the cats, and the longing, and the heartbreak.

Layla and Caleb sure are the cutest thing in the world!! I love how they each want to do right by each other, at their own personal expense, and it takes them ages to overcome those insecurities before falling completely head over heels.

New Comfort Series

This has become a new comfort series for me. I adore the whole cast of characters from all 3 of these books and cannot wait to read the next one when it comes out.

Going into this one, I expected to be slightly disappointed because i loved In The Weeds SO much, but I was not. This books is deliciously sweet with all of the food & baked good descriptions and another cinnamon roll MMC. I loved getting both POVs. And the continuation of the other book couples' stories intertwining throughout. Theyre all so loveable. The town is adorable. It's like a spicy hallmark Gilmore Girls. Didnt know I needed it but so glad I have it now.

Perfection

First of all, I absolutely loved this story. But I’ll say the narrators did such an incredible job with this story they way they made me feel all of the emotions, the tone and overall performance was beautiful and I loved this audiobook.

Not my favorite

The accents and voice were annoying. The man a little too feminine for a smut book for me. Not my favorite of the love light series.
