There are times in life when we look back and feel desperate to make time stand still, especially when unexpected change happens and all we want is for things to go back to how they were. But we can't stop the flow of life, and we can't stop time. And looking back doesn't enable us to go back. It just makes us stuck. In a place. In a space. In a memory. In a mindset. In a habit.

Using the life of Paul the Apostle as a case study, Bianca shows how grit was the genesis of his transformation from a judgmental Pharisee to a world-changing follower of Jesus.

Pain and regret can hold us captive. Our past mistakes and trauma tell us to blame others, feel ashamed, or turn to a temporary fix that often becomes a permanent escape. By the time Satan whispers we need to dress it up and call it home, pain is our new normal. Pastor and motivational speaker Real Talk Kim has a message for us: the pain might not be our fault, but the healing is our responsibility. In You Gotta Get Up, Pastor Kim reminds us as only she can that staying stuck requires as much energy as moving forward.

Publisher's summary
Read by the author.
In a culture where so many people think of middle age as a downward slope into comfy sneakers and quiet, meaningless existence, we can redefine the second half of life, shaping it into decades of fulfillment, fun, strength, and purpose.
In our forties, fifties, and beyond, we're wrestling with new questions. Is this it? Did I do what I wanted to do in my life? Who am I now that my kids have moved out? Will my sagging skin eventually hang all the way down to my feet? We feel a little like the world has nudged us aside for the younger crowd.
But God still has much in store for us.
God doesn't bring us to the middle of our lives so we can park in front of the TV and binge-watch home makeover shows. There is no "midlife" to him! We are his gift to this world at every age and in every season, and it's time to embrace it like never before. Right now, we are the best we've ever been. We know more, we've done more, we've lost and loved more. We've figured out that all tweezers are not created equal for chin hairs and, best of all, we've crossed into a space of feeling more ourselves than ever before. These are exhilarating and empowering years.
In Midlife Battle Cry, bestselling author Dawn Barton will inspire you to:
- realize that God isn't done with you (honestly, he's just getting started),
- view midlife as a pivot point, the start of a bold and powerful season,
- embrace who you are physically, spiritually, and emotionally,
- learn to share your experiences and wisdom with a younger generation, and
- accept that sometimes adding arch support to your cutest shoes is a really good idea.
Blending lots of humor, honesty, stories, and insights, Dawn will walk you through redefining the mighty second half of life. It's time to rediscover your passions, pursue your dreams—and know your actions can cause not just a ripple effect but a magnificent tidal wave.

Throw Out Fifty Things is truly an eye-opener. According to Blanke, our lives are so filled with junk from the past--from dried up tubes of crazy glue to old grudges--that's it's a wonder we can get up in the morning, never mind go to work, care for our children and parents, and just put one foot in front of the other. Blanke wants to start a movement of people across America throwing out 50 things (magazines count as one!) that will help liberate us from the stuff - both physical and mental - that clutters our lives.

Hannah Brencher, TED Talk speaker and founder of The World Needs More Love Letters, thought Atlanta was her destination. Yet even after she arrived, she found herself in the same old chase for the next best thing…somewhere else. And it left her in a state of anxiety and deep depression. Our hyper-connected era has led us to believe life should be a highlight reel - where what matters most is perfect beauty, instant success, and ready applause. Yet, as Hannah learned, nothing about faith, relationships, or character is instant. So she took up a new mantra: be where your feet are.

She's your fun friend for the midlife journey!
Dawn Barton wrote a fun, relatable book to guide us and join us on our midlife journey. What a fun audio book, read by the author. Her personality, faith, and fun comes through the words and her voice. Dawn is an inspiring person, yet she reminds us to look to Jesus. She also reminds us that we are not finished, that God still has purpose and joy in store for us. Listen to this great book! you won't regret it!

Just what I needed
Sometimes we just need to be reminded we’re not the only one who feels this way & spur one another on to do what God has uniquely equipped us to do with our one & only life.

This is a FUN read!!
I'm only beginning my journey into perimenopause... I call it the pre-peri stage. This was a book that was insightful, colourful and so much fun to listen to. The author makes a woman's journey into her 40s, 50s and 60s seem like an adventure worth dressing up for!
I'd go through this book again for a pick-me-up anytime!

I needed this. Thank you for calling me out for looking in my rearview, but lifting me to be the woman God intended me to be. Grateful <><
