About this listen

What happens when you're middle-aged? Is it over? Will you change or remain the same? What will you do with the second half of your life? All of the short stories and essays in this collection illuminate this incredibly interesting and vital stage.

Follow along as my over-50 characters explore their world, from grandmothering to driving a big rig to deep-sea fishing. All of them demonstrate how they have chosen to navigate this new world. Some are more successful than others, but all are interesting.

Not at all what I expected, but very enjoyable!

Really enjoyed the writing and the performance -- Jennifer Jill Araya does a great job with character voices. It took me awhile to adjust, though, because the title and the cover art made me think these would be lighthearted, humorous stories. They weren't at all; there were some pretty heavy themes here. But they were well-written, so no complaints on that front. Just maybe not the greatest branding in terms of the title and cover.
